Thoughts on part-time check-the-box MBA? I’’ 32, and am on track for promotion to SM. I can’t justify doing a part-time MBA at a top school and taking on all the debt. An MBA has always been a goal of mine, and some state schools provide an affordable price tag but I’m not sure if it’s worth it at all if it’s not a top 20 school.
Received an offer for a strategy manager position at a large media company for 135k + 15% bonus. Does this sound right? I have 3 YOE.
Anybody EY-Parthenon who can refer me for an appropriate role? Below are my credentials - 1) SC at Deloitte (Previous Employer - ZS Associates) 2) Total exp: 5-6 years in Commercial Analytics and Strategy consulting 3) Education - Masters in Business Analytics Happy to talk more on a dm/call/email.
I got hired at EY after mid year. My offer letter says I’m not eligible for salary increase until 10/18. Is that typical?
Looking for others’ take : 2 months ago I interviewed with the hiring manager for an industry job (large company) that I really want. It seemed to go well and I was told the position is open, but I was warned the hiring process can be very slow. Radio silence until about 5-6 weeks later (I didn’t follow up at all except for the thank you note), when I was asked to interview with several additional people in the department…cont’d
Is the main advantage of applying to mba early simply to literally start making more sooner? Is it easier when you’re younger? I’m fortunately not in a rush to apply and I think next year my app will be stronger, my income is not gonna be much higher post mba, I’ll have another promotion, better recs, and less debt to take on. What am I missing?
I don't understand when people got promoted to C from BTA feel SO HAPPY... it's not performance based promotion. As long as you don't screw up the firm, you are "promoted"it's merely a title change
What monitor would you recommend for WFH situation assuming a IB/fund role? Know there is disagreement whether one wider monitor is better than dual smaller ones so would love to hear both perspectives. Some wider ones that have been recommended to me were Dell Ultrasharp 34 curved USB-C and Samsung Ultrawide 34
(Discussion topic) What are the top mistakes a new or experienced coach may make when working with a client in all fields...?
Traveling to Morocco in August with the fam. Wife and I are vaccinated but the kids aren’t. All under 10. I have been having second thoughts based on the delta variant. Is this a dumb thing for me to do and just reschedule for later? 2 weeks out now and I haven’t cancelled anything yet, we had a brutal summer so really want to get out.
Agency producers help me out as I’m consulting with a friend who owns a regional prod co. Are you more likely to take an in person meeting or a zoom or phone call with a production company rep?
Hi everyone, quick question about EY. What is the difference between KL1 and SI 1 Enterprise Risk position? (If there is any). Thank you :)
What are the different client facing ranks at all the firms, in order from lowest to highest, and how many years are typically spent at each before being promoted to the next?
Vax question: my state is finally letting me get the vax. I am hoping to do it this weekend (J&J). The problem is I have to fly into Chicago next weekend and will be required to take a COVID test before I arrive as I won’t have the 2 weeks to be “fully vaccinated”. Will the J&J vax cause a false positive on my COVID test? I don’t think it will, as it is a viral vector vax and not a weakened version of the virus, but maybe there is someone on this app who knows the real answer.
I have worked at my company for just over 3 years and have not gotten a promotion. I know it might sound stuck up, but how long should I wait? I brought the idea up at an evaluation this winter as there was a job opening at the level above me, but unfortunately the timing wasn’t right for my boss and I did not get the promotion. I know my work is valuable to my company, but how long should I be willing to wait?
Can someone provide feedback on this offer? Analyst role, fed govt contract analyst. Currently <2yoe in audit. Role is max 40 hours a week. Pay will be 80-90k. I like the hours and deviation from accounting, worried about what a government role might do to my career projections. Thanks!
Any fish familiar with Apple's OPD group? Thoughts on potential exit and expected base comp? MBA with 5 YOE, seems like it might be a step down from MBB Associate comp but tempted by tech exit and work life balance...
