I’m a gen ed teacher but following. I’ve had family ask and would love to know.
I'm a Title 1 teacher, but my license is in EC (SPED) so I keep up with my EC colleagues. Judging by how things went last time, the sad answer is I fear the EC students will not be served well. Our teachers had scheduled video conferencing with their students, but were only able to provide minimal support. It was mostly social-emotional checks-in more than real academic interventions. Most EC students did not thrive in the remote learning environment.
I haven’t heard anything yet. We are supposed to get an update “soon.”
Yeah, I work at a Title 1 school. I wasn't able to serve my students on my caseload because over half of the students in our district didn't either have devices or WiFi. I called each week to check in with parents and my students. I created several assignments for my students on Google Clasroom and Flipgrid for them and informed parents. However, I only had 1 out of 14 completed an assignment. I was very discouraged. I just hope this coming year that students' remote learning is successful. Especially my sped students that don't need to fall further behind.
