Has anyone heard talks about layoffs in litigation? Seems like litigation is too busy, but have heard rumors about litigation layoffs for associates.

Firms will not do widespread litigation layoffs. They may slip in a few underperforming litigation associates when they do corporate cuts.

After performance reviews, and if they lay off corporate folks. Generally, I think lots of firms will be more critical in Q1 and Q2 of next year and will cut people that may have survived in years past. Given the widespread negativity to Cooley, I suspect most will do it on a stealth basis.

I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. Does anyone have experience or advice?

Hi ! Looking for advice. I’ve been with a company in BC for 2.5 years, started support role, promoted to smb AE a year ago. salary is 65k with uncapped commission. We recently did layoffs, I was kept however there have been changes & meeting quota has become difficult & we have a way heavier workload. The perks are amazing but I need to make more money. Do you think I could get a role with more money with my experience that’s fully remote even in this “recession”..thoughts?

Hello Everyone,

I have posted about my experience at Epam hiring and firing systems where I have described the story how they have hired and fired me without prior notice and no single project interview has been taken.

Now, my linkedIn account is not accessible and epam has reported to linkedIn.

Can anyone suggest to me what I should do now?

I was very successful as an internaional sales exec at a startup for 15 years before we were bought by a large publicly traded company. The culture shift was dramatic, as was the way that I was expected to work. I was laid off a tortuous 3 years after the buyout.

While I was in some ways relieved (put me out of my misery!) I spiralled pretty hard and after a while started working PT jobs, gig type stuff, etc. while I figured things out, and healed from burnout.

Anyone have any idea when the hiring freeze might end within AWS ProServ? I’m currently at Amazon and have a TS clearance, PMP & CSM. I come from a Big4 consulting firm with a background in Enterprise Performance. I’ll be honest and say I’m not feeling very safe in my current role with the ongoing layoffs. Instead of leaving, I’d love to go back to my “consulting roots” and join the ProServ team. I’m taking my AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam next weekend. Hoping this freeze is lifted soon.

I quit my previous job approximately 5-6 months ago due to toxic culture and being pressured to commit fraud… I fear hiring managers see that I’ve been out of work for this time and may assume I was fired or laid off. Additionally I’ve had a couple interviews where company “X” interviewers have commented on this and in an effort to not bad mouth my previous employer I’m stuck with a generic answer like I want to take my career to the next level with Company “X.” Any thoughts/advice?

Hello everyone,
My company is getting merged with Citrix.
I have 6+ years of experience into data analysis & I work on a BI tool Spotfire.
My current Fixed is 12.50LPA + 10% variable.
My manager and I feel I'm highly underpaid but cannot do anything about it due to the merger.
Layoff is not a concern for me, I want to understand the impact of the merger on my financial career.
Should I stay or look for another job?
Also want to know the market standards for my role and yoe.
Thank you!
