I applied for some senior positions at AbbVie online 2 weeks ago. The status appears as “resume received” for some positions, status of one position appears as “under review” while another position shows “in progress”. Any idea how long their hiring team takes to get back following the application?
Hi Fishes, I got a call from Infosys HR stating that I'm selected and I would receive offer in 10 days. It's been around 12 days now, yet to receive the offer. HR's not picking the calls too. Any ideas, has anyone undergone the same situation. Please help. Infosys Infosys Limited Infosys Consulting
Hi all, recently a recruiter from Amazon reached out for an SDE 2(2+ years of exp. required) role and I'm a recent CS grad. I gave the OA (which was extremely difficult w/ 99% cut-off) and other tasks related to the OA. A few hours back, I got a call from the recruiter that I had cleared the assessment and tasks and said that they are looking for 2+ years of exp. I said I'm open to the SDE1 role and said she'll ask her colleagues. Idk what to expect now 😥 Amazon Amazon India

I’ve dropped out of undergrad schools before. If I didn’t obtain a degree I don’t put it on my resume. The only time I list a school where I haven’t graduated is when it is “in process.” Just my 2 cents.
Imagine you don't mention it, and in an interview someone notice some gap in your work history and ask what happened during that time period. What would you say honestly. If you dropped out pretty quickly so the gap is hard to notice I would not bother mentioning it. However if you committed several years and exited. It might get noticed and people might ask.
I will have to admit an embarrassing truth that I did finish a PhD program. Not everyone in my cohort made it through. There were a large chunk that after less than a year realized it was not for them and that dot com startup was a better deal. Some stuck it out and exited with a Masters. All these exits were the good kind, and easy to explain.
There was at least one person I knew who was struggling with personal issues but eventually completed at the limit of 8 years. He happen to take some time off and went to this small search company I never heard of called Google. He defended his thesis post IPO. I happen to be a Post Doc then and was reconsidering if I made the right life choices. :) Anyway the short story is context matters. A good truthful story about why you did it and what you learned is all you probably need to prepare.
I did drop out of grad school. It didn’t leave a gap in my work history, but it wasn’t wise to finish the program since my career shifted away from my program of study. I was majoring in Special Education and now work in corporate Learning and development. I do discuss that I’ve completed graduate level coursework in curriculum and design in interviews - that still applies to my career. If they ask why I didn’t complete the program I’m honest and interviewers so far have understood my position.
Thank you for sharing! I’m considering dropping because I’m debating whether or not it’s worth taking on the debt for a masters degree in communications. It does align with my career goals, I just cant tell if I’m getting cold feet or if this really was just a bad decision.
I should have dropped out of graduate school...
Graduate school students don’t really seem any different than undergrads. Except they have a more inflated ego tbh
I am not drop out but there is 1 year gap between my UG and PG, and I don't have professional job during that time.
Interview asked why I have 1 year gap, I just say the truth.
Plus I added that I use to work as cleaner and waiter during this time so I save money for my education. And explain what I learn during that time.
Just put down a year or year and half in the program say MA Candidate and you will be missing grad date and degree awarded I did two degrees all coursework for the second but didn’t finish thesis because I got really sick with an autoimmune disease so I put” all but thesis” on mine. Not sure how much course work you have. If it’s only a few courses maybe leave off or just list the classes you completed if it’s related
