How do you actually find a decent person to date when you’re working 80+ consulting hours? Like seriously...everyone I know who recently got engaged or married had been long term dating since high school or college. What has worked for people?

Folks, I had my final case study round with MD and a manager last week. I sort of messed up on market sizing/ maths but qualitative discussion with MD on the case went alright. Although am not positive I will clear it but the recruiter hasn’t contacted (they were pretty quick with previous rounds). I followed up as well but no reply. Should I assume/ accept I haven’t cleared and they don’t bother telling? Don’t know what else to assume.

I switched firms this year to a boutique (~15 attys) that pays out sizable year end bonuses (I was told during the hiring process at least 75% of our base salary for associates). The year is winding down and no one is talking about timing, amounts, etc. My self-eval was due yesterday and I’ve tried to politely ask about “expectations” in that context with other associates but no one is spilling the tea. Is there an industry standard timing for this? Am I being too polite?

My friend is a 4th year public defender in NYC. T14 grad and easily one of the smartest, most capable attorneys and professionals I know. She finally hit the limit and is looking to pivot out of PD work when she moves to Oregon next year. Does anyone have any experience seeing this PD - private practice transition happen? She’s open to basically anything in the litigation space so long as it pays better. I assume biglaw is off the table given the market, but know she would thrive. Any advice?

Is it hard to bill 1800 hours a year as a corporate/transactional attorney?

Anyone know of a good way to find out the identity (and citizenship) of partners in a LP? It was formed in Texas. Haven’t had any luck finding information online or in filings in any prior litigation.

How do associates and non-named partners obtain (plaintiff) personal injury cases? Do you advertise yourself, create a brand, all word of mouth through your network and family and friends, or something else? I get a great 40% of fees I bring in, but so far have only been able to bring in one minor MVA case (guy I went to high school with). I have been practicing for 1.5 years for reference. Trying to learn how to bring in cases
