Any news/announcement, when PwC SDC is planning to resume work from office?
Financial Planner / Advisor recommendations? I’m new to Chicago. I grew up poor, the only person who n my family to ever go to college, my parents never owned a home. I am unprepared for how to break this chain, and take the next step in financial security. Any suggestions on people/firms to look at would be appreciated.
Hello there, I will be starting a masters in global management with a focus in trade and investment. I’m located in the southwest, and I’m looking to enter something centered around US-Latin American trade/development. I am looking for an internship. I have applied at the world bank, haapag lloyd, international trade administration, and the US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce. Any ideas or tips?
Currently a staff attorney in US firm, hoping to secure the permanent position as Associate after contract ends. Any advice?
I needed a good laugh and this did just that! 🤣
What happens if uscis does a work location visit? After approving H1B? Folks in consulting won’t be in the base office. How does it work?
Thoughts on $WKHS?
How do you actually find a decent person to date when you’re working 80+ consulting hours? Like seriously...everyone I know who recently got engaged or married had been long term dating since high school or college. What has worked for people?
Need advice/encouragement on “cold Facebook messaging” a potential (girl) friend that just moved into my city. We know each other from high school, and had a few mutual friends but that’s over 10 years ago and I’m not in touch with those mutuals anymore. Is it creepy if I reach out on fb messenger and propose a coffee/ice cream? If not, how should I word it?
Best wine app? Wanting to catalog the bottles I have, see stats, get notified when wine is coming up to drink (out of hold periods), etc.
Does anyone out there have a lot of experience preparing returns for individuals who have done 1031 exchanges into a DST?!
Folks, I had my final case study round with MD and a manager last week. I sort of messed up on market sizing/ maths but qualitative discussion with MD on the case went alright. Although am not positive I will clear it but the recruiter hasn’t contacted (they were pretty quick with previous rounds). I followed up as well but no reply. Should I assume/ accept I haven’t cleared and they don’t bother telling? Don’t know what else to assume.

Biglaw folks — what’s everyone annualizing right now? Would be helpful to provide some background info too.
Have you ever had a professional setback? What was it and how did you deal with it? How did you recover and bounce back?
Got a screener as a retool candidate (lit to corporate). Would love to hear from people who made a similar switch and how the interview process went! Particularly interested in the questions asked and topics that came up. TIA!
Any lawyers in Los Angeles work at firms that are hiring? I’m a 6th year defense lawyer and am interested in changing things up. Open to different practice areas, not particularly interested in big law, and want to work somewhere with a hybrid WFH option.
Any thoughts on Wilson Sonsini (DC) office? Any updates as to return to office/flexible working arrangements? TIA.

Does Marshall Dennehey give any bonuses?
I switched firms this year to a boutique (~15 attys) that pays out sizable year end bonuses (I was told during the hiring process at least 75% of our base salary for associates). The year is winding down and no one is talking about timing, amounts, etc. My self-eval was due yesterday and I’ve tried to politely ask about “expectations” in that context with other associates but no one is spilling the tea. Is there an industry standard timing for this? Am I being too polite?
When a partner you haven't yet worked with sends you an email that just says "available?" in the subject line and no message in the body, how do you respond if you're busy on a deadline and not sure whether they have a normal project or need a fire drill you can't deliver? (Partners, please don't do this to us) 😱
Fun plans for Thanksgiving?? I’m so excited to have a 4-day weekend I don’t know what to do with myself
I've always believed that your job security was about producing decent work (doesn't have to be perfect) but more importantly having/ brining in business.
Does anyone else agree with me?
My friend is a 4th year public defender in NYC. T14 grad and easily one of the smartest, most capable attorneys and professionals I know. She finally hit the limit and is looking to pivot out of PD work when she moves to Oregon next year. Does anyone have any experience seeing this PD - private practice transition happen? She’s open to basically anything in the litigation space so long as it pays better. I assume biglaw is off the table given the market, but know she would thrive. Any advice?
Hi, everyone! I am extremely passionate about issues such as climate change and gun violence, and how money in politics leads to inaction and disinformation regarding these issues. Does anyone have any insight as to where I should be looking for employment opportunities? Practice areas, the type of organization, traditional vs. non-traditional law jobs? Any help or guidance would be appreciated. I really want to make a change. Thank you!
Anyone know of a good way to find out the identity (and citizenship) of partners in a LP? It was formed in Texas. Haven’t had any luck finding information online or in filings in any prior litigation.
How do associates and non-named partners obtain (plaintiff) personal injury cases? Do you advertise yourself, create a brand, all word of mouth through your network and family and friends, or something else? I get a great 40% of fees I bring in, but so far have only been able to bring in one minor MVA case (guy I went to high school with). I have been practicing for 1.5 years for reference. Trying to learn how to bring in cases
How do you deal with the boring, mind-numbing aspects of your job? For example, I enjoy being a litigator, but I hate doing doc review.
