Hi IBM sharks 🦈
So I got interviewed for a project by the IBM team. The interviewer told me that its a go ahead from their end, now the client will assess my profile and if they too are fine with it, I will be onboarded?
Is it true that we have client interview as well? If yes then after how many days of interview by IBM team, client interview takes place?
Or its just that if the IBM team is fine with it, we are selected for the project?
Any inputs on this will really help :)

Do it! They are incredibly similar in application, especially because the students you'd be working with are DIELs. The main differences are considering cultural aspects more and that there's less of a legislative "backbone" to back you up.
I actually work with a lot of dual identified students, but from the other direction (I’m certified in ESL). Here’s the thing, ESL instruction is — in my experience — not nearly as protected as SPED. Depending on where you work you may end up with large groups, very little instructional time, or few resources. You may also be considered less ‘important’ and have all kinds of interruptions to your instruction. I am considering going the other way and switching to SPED...
Some things may be very similar, but your ‘lens’ and learning targets will be different. For example, if you were teaching math, an ESL teacher would be focused a lot more on how well a student can explain math concepts/procedures, both when speaking to others and writing. Strategies such as providing visuals, word banks, sentence stems/frames, multi sensory teaching, repetition, slower instructional pace, simplified language, etc, would be very similar.
I love being an ESL teacher ! I started out in elementary and have been doing ESL for the past 12 years.
Very similar I did it it’s work but very rewarding
I’m an ESL teacher. My biggest recommendation is to work at a school where you aren’t alone. I’ve been the only ESL teacher at several places I’ve taught at and it can be really isolating.
