Yes, me and plenty of people I know! ECs are a little overrated I feel.

If you have something stellar sure, but generally high scores/solid work ex/good recs/good essays are the core of your app. If they are strong, you will most likely get interviews. If they are weak, things become hard.

Assuming you are not an underrepresented category, it’s not going to be easy. You will need to consult with a professional coach.

You should 100 percent focus on getting a 750+ GMAT. That can somewhat make up. Also do maybe a couple of ECs like volunteering in non-profits? I would recommend sitting down with a professional and ironing out a good story for why your GPA is below 3.0.

Should have a story. ECs don’t need to be core to it. I got HSW and multiple M7 interviews and few admits in round 1 and waiting for others now - don’t have the strongest ECs

Outside H/S I don’t think ECs matter all that much to be honest - most schools care about their stats so if you have good grades, good gpa and good workex you should be fine

Hi I am an asian american myself. I want to let everyone here know that despite the recent anti-asian incidents that have been circulating around social media and this bowl. I know that the irresponsible actions of a few individuals does not speak for everyone. I don’t think it’s fair for us to misrepresent people of color (we are in this group too) base on a few reckless individuals from those videos. We are all humans and our generations both faced discrimination in varying forms and severity.

Will soon be a D1 at EYP, base comp @ 220k, eventual exit goals to tech startup for strat/analytics in a couple years

Don’t really see an uplift in my career trajectory as I can achieve what I want already. Mainly have a chip on my shoulder as I failed out of UChicago as an UG.

1) Is an MBA worth it?
2) Are there advantages that I’m overlooking (maybe getting into FAANG?)
