In accenture countdown site. I can see project as '' bench-state''.. What does it means??
Accenture bench is deeeeep. Especially strategy.
Last week on my project and flight issues from hell today (and Monday). I'll really enjoy the bench time after this!
I love when PwC throws me onto a busy season from October-January for a different market team so I can roll off in January and be on my busy season clients until April...second year in a row!!!
Just got hired at Accenture as a senior analyst. New to consulting and scared of bench time/getting fired. Any tips on how a new consultant with no skills/experience can avoid bench time?
How do you spend you bench time? Feel like I should take adventage of the downtime but worry that I might not seem proactive enough for optics.
Any recommendations for certifications that are relatively quick and easy to get? Been on the bench for a while and trying to get some "quick wins" to motivate myself :/
The BEACH or the BENCH? 🤔
just told I need to reduce my charge hours from 45 to 40 / week. Not reducing my work scope, just amount of time I can charge. I know I shouldn't be angry, given that the bench is huge, but still sad
Planning to switch companies but I'm currently in a consulting position on the bench. I'm worried if I give 2 weeks notice that I'll be let go immediately since I have nothing to transition, but I also don't want to screw over my current company by getting assigned to a project then leaving without notice. Am I just paranoid?
Beach time taught me how un-purposeful my work is. All of the motivation and positivity I get is from validation coming from my team / leadership / client and never the work itself. And I realize this also may apply to the typical consulting exit roles. Time to clean my slate and start over I guess.
Rolled off of a frustrating, less than ideal project today, and came home to find my fiancée had left me a homemade card, new tea mug, chocolate and one of my favorite movies (Cabin in the Woods) ❤️❤️
I was on the bench for about two months for AFS (prj complications / clearance) where I ended up just taking a project that seemed to align with something I wanted. I've been here for about 3 weeks...
I want to request feedback (I am a staff 1 about to roll off my first busy client and feel now would be the time) but I hesitate to seem “weird” or “uncool” to those above me. Is this a valid (cont.)
How long do you think you can sit on the bench before quitting when you have another job with a flexible start?
Coronavirus has really made me start to think about and value the simple things in life
Has anyone ever worked with OOH agency Encompass Media? www.emgmediainc.com. thinking of hiring them for a campaign. Thx
How far out can you typically set up interviews? Can I take two weeks before first interview?
Why do some people say that the senior level at big tech (e.g., L6 at AWS) correlates to senior manager level at big 4? I get it from a comp perspective since comp is just that much higher. But from a scope/skills perspective, I find it hard to believe that L6 is closer to SM than it is to SC. Asking cause I have a senior level offer in big tech. Amazon, AWS, Google, Facebook, Apple, Microsoft
People always say how hard it is to get fired if u work hard at a big 4 but people get put on pips left and right which lead to getting fired. So I guess not getting fired is just a myth
I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!
Any other women experience spotting after receiving the vaccine? I am meeting more and more women saying they have.
Anyone else feel like that if they aren’t doing the work themselves then it’s never done correctly? Doesn’t matter what it is - admin to client work - always materially incorrect. Also, doesn’t matter what training I give them - a quick overview or an in-depth working session. And then the Partners ask why I’m exhausted all the time.
Howdy fish, currently interviewing at KPMG for a associate role in major projects advisory. I’ve gone through the phone screening and the interview with 2 directors. Next interview is with 2 SM. What kind of questions can I expect in that interview?
COVID vaccine reactions? I got shot 1 of Pfizer on Friday. For me I had a sore arm for two days and was extremely tired. I’d love to hear others who got JnJ or Moderna.
Wow. McKinsey, which has the biggest public sector presence of the MBB, really hasn't been doing too hot at all in the sector. Its presence is tiny and it's gotten even smaller. Meanwhile it's bungling whatever opportunities it's getting. https://www.propublica.org/article/how-mckinsey-is-making-100-million-and-counting-advising-on-the-governments-bumbling-coronavirus-response
Hi guys, I have a somewhat different question this time. Background: I have >8YOE and earn >100k€ in Europe and have been doing a Masters in Management next to working full time; and I'm almost done; However I failed an exam thrice (each time on the exam date I had important projects to run) now I need to find an MBA/MSC programme where I can transfer a lot of my already earned credits, any ideas here guys? Or should I just leave it- It was basically the last exam before starting my thesis..
My wife and I would like to retire at age 50 (or earlier). We’re in our early 30s. We’ve been maxing out 401ks and IRAs for years and started contributing 20k a year into a taxable account to start filling the gap since we can’t access 401k until 55. At what point should we be reducing 401k/IRAs and redirecting to the taxable account? Otherwise our income balloons late in life. Curious how others are managing this.
Regarding the politicalization of COVID, this opinion was shares somewhere else and felt compelling enough to discuss…..The right wing political parties are using anti-vax, Covid denialism as an isolating issue to radicalize their base. This does not get them more votes, because these were already their supporters, but it does make them far more entrenched in their views because of the social sunk-cost of alienating them from everyone else. The absurdity and high social and real cost of (Cont.)
Would love some opinions, moms. Because of covid, I’ve kept my kids home since March 2020. I predict we will not have spent $5k on dependent care in 2020 that we elected last year. Almost but not quite. It’s open enrollment time, should I elect the some amount for 2021?
If I gave a salary range in my pre-screen and then got an offer in that range, can I negotiate higher? They said 70-80k. I said I’m look for something higher (more in the 90-100k) and they said that should be doable, but really I want something in the 110-120k range (gave a lowball bc didn’t want to turn them off in the first round). How do I got about asking for higher?
Hiring for a Senior Media Specialist with ideally 1-2 years experience in programmatic, though paid social or SEM is ok too. Looking for someone in LA or Chicago, job links in comment!
