My IRA is pretty tech heavy, so trying to be mindful.

Just got into a full time grad program for international affairs that starts in January of 2021. (completely changing careers). Hi All, How much additional saving $$ needs to be present in your account during closing to successfully approve loan. Let’s say if mortgage payment(principle+interest) is $3500 and prop tax+mellarose is $800 per month.

Looking at two identical condos, each 1900 sq ft, however one is a duplex up and the other is a straight condo. My preference is to go for the one that doesn’t have a split level as it means the space is (or appears) relatively larger. However, the duplex up is going for quite a bit more so was curious which would appraise better and which would be preferred by most buyers since I plan to sell the unit in 5-6 years?

Fishes, I need some advice. After 8 years in aviation I like to pivot back and work again in Real Estate Investment, preferably for a REIT. All my education is international in legal, RE, taxation and I have 8 years work experience. I started about 6 months ago to apply, and either I get a no thank you we need someone with more current experience - or no thank you, you are over qualified. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Do Plumbers generally charge a fee just to come look at the problem and provide an estimate? I called a couple of plumbers and they are asking for a 50$ or 75$ fee just to be at the door and give an estimate, the fee will be adjusted if I give them the job.
