Looking to possibly make a career change but I’m honestly not sure where to go next. I’m a finance manager working in the RV industry and I do really well but I am looking for a normal schedule and to finally have Saturdays off so I can make it to all my kid’s games. How important is having a job title that specifies a focus in employment law in the context of salary and future job prospects? This is opposed to something general such as attorney or council. If I'm looking for a position in employment law with a general title on my resume, will perspective employers rule me out because of it? I just asked for a title change and I am not sure how hard to push for it.

Does anyone have experience of taking up a role play panel interview with Gartner?

Does this make sense? Got a great 2021 review from supervisor (1 page narrative of my accomplishments), just 1 rec for improvement but minor admin issue. But she rated me AVERAGE on everything. Her explanation: 1) you either do a good job or you don’t 2) I’m not doing better than anyone else on the team. Everyone on my team is amazing, so no matter how hard we all work, we still get rated as average. I feel like this is partly because being rated above average means you can ask for a raise.

I work for an internal department within Public Sector (7.5 years) Despite us having the financially best year ever in 2021, my raise was only 4% with no bonus.

I've been offered the same position at JSI Telecom for $47K more and it is Canadian family-owned, 400 personnel and two days a week in the office vs. completely remote and flexible at GT. Whereas I'm in a team of 20 at GT, I'd be the only person in my position so more workload and I have two little ones to think of. Thoughts?

It’s the one consistent feedback I get while casing , “to be more structured” I’m there for math ability , business logic , creativity.

In a world of virtual pitching, what’s the best way you’ve seen/heard agencies stand out “in the room”?

In every interview when they ask “why strategy” I never feel like my answer is sufficient enough. Even if it’s a straight fwd, honest answer... is there something they’re looking for?

Anyone have a go to framework they use to write positioning “strategies?” Or just a typical strategy? Could use inspiration— I feel I always default to the same setup. It’s not broken, but I’m bored!

What are some non-industry books that have made you a better strategist? Or even genres that you tend to favor to expand your thinking?
