Has anyone here seen a functional medicine doctor for hypothyroidism, pre-diabetes or early hashimotos? How much has it helped you? Insurance doesn’t pay for it so considering the cost, I want to make sure I am taking the right step and knowing it has helped some people. Thank you!

I’m on medication for hashimotos. Have been for about 10 years now. I go to an endocrinologist however. Been going monthly after having baby my levels have been like a rollercoaster and have had some bad flare ups

I just found out I am pregnant so that has been on my mind as well. I have heard from a lot of people that pregnancy can be detrimental on thyroid more than usual. Hoping everything works out well for you!

I have never seen a functional doctor for it, but I have been put on medication for hypothyroidism because of all the other problems it caused. I think that if whatever condition you have is causing bigger issues (like mine was) you should 100% get the help as best you can. Navigating insurance is difficult, I know

I am going to take a chance with functional medicine and trust that it will work for now since It will end up causing other issues.

I see an endocrinologist for adrenal insufficiency and thyroid workup every 6 months.

Oh my. Sorry to hear that. What happened?

I am doing this right now. Still too early to know how much it is helping me but I would rather not go the route of a bunch of prescriptions, etc from traditional medicine. It is $99/month subscription plus supplements and any special procedures. Not Cheap. I’ve only had 2 appointments so far and changed my diet for about a month. I also need to go in for an iron transfusion next month. Would love to hear about your experience.

Thanks W1! I will let you know how mine goes. Hoping whatever you do works out for you!

Any current/Ex IBM please guide me to Opt In/Out of the IBM's Medical Insurance. To start of there is a co share of premium for a base sum insured of 3L which comes around 1790/- Then skipping the benefits for a second if I jump on to the claim part there is a Copay of 10-90. Employee will have to bear 10% of the claim and insurer will bear the other 90%. For dependents 20-80 Copay. Are the benefits are good enough to consider copay and subscribe ? Please Suggest.

Worth reading this and following. I will be honest here. In consulting, most of the time work becomes priority over others unless family, health, friends and soul needs urgent attention. Need to change myself. How about others?
