Anyone in eyp restructuring willing to refer?
I've worked at the same engineering firm for 4 years. I'm currently making $161k with only a $750 bonus, but excellent vacation (4 weeks, cash out anytime, rolls over indefinitely), 45 hours a week. I have an interview with a recruiter at Guidehouse this week for a Technical Project Manager role. It seems to be focused in the government space and requires a security clearance. What sort of salary and benefits could I expect for this sort of role at Guidehouse?

If you get into MBB it's more of an issue of fit than prestige so plenty of BCG and Bain people chose their firms over McK. Have some friends in PE and at firms like Bridgespan who made similar decisions. They're all great firms who only take ambitious people so it's hard to go wrong
I turned down 2/3 of MBB as a result of fit. Great companies but I didn't think I fit well. Hate Deloitte as well so possibly another issue;)
Every year there are several people who have BCG and McK offers.
Lol @ the guys saying they picked Deloitte over McK. Get real.
Id rather work for BCG
Lol that was slick BCg1
A2 - Your coworker is clearly insane.
Turned down an experienced hire offer from McKinsey (they wanted me to start back as a BA at 85k base) when I had 4-5 years of experience. Uncle D offered 6 figures with a hefty sign on bonus.
Sorry, I just assumed everyone took the Mck offer in that scenario. My bad BCG
I'd take either.
Interned at McKinsey, and joined BCG full-time. Couldn't be happier! McK is a great firm and that's where I first decided I wanted to go into consulting, but absolutely love BCG!! The work, the people, the culture -- everything! :)
Yes. It was hard but I was too far along in my career and it would have been a major pay hit.
McKinsey for Deloitte. Hated the Mckinsey culture. After seeing my friends work there for a year or two, definitely feel I made the right choice.
Have a friend who left McKinsey to go work for bcg shortly after MBA. Hated mck culture and said it was toxic. I'm at neither firm though
@PWC1, D also offered a Senior Consultant position. As someone who wants to go back for an MBA program, I felt that showing progression in terms of responsibilities (leading teams, projects, etc) deloitte gave me a better chance to shape my story together.
I obviously wouldn't have turned down MBB over Deloitte if all those options presented themselves at the same time, however I have turned away aggressive outreach from all three since being here.... main reason being the grass is not always greener in the sense that I have network, great fit for what I do, and advocacy and runway for partner. Really tough to leave a good situation like that behind especially when you're really happy.
Turned down McK for Bain. Worried about it a lot at first but have had an amazing experience thus far...
I turned down McKinsey in Dallas to work for Deloitte in SF
Fair enough
McK is great, but Bain was/is better fit for me
