Has anyone here used a career coach? Worth it? I’m 4.5 years into audit and am absolutely miserable; I will make manager if I stay but I don’t think it’s worth being further pigeonholed. I’m not sure if a simple exit to industry would solve the problems I have with this job, so I’m unsure what exactly to look for.

Yeah I found one specializing in moving from audit to other fields (IB, Corp Finance, FP&A). He helped me land my new job in finance with a 35% increase and 40 hour work week. DM me if you want more info

Yep - after 2 calls I knew what I suspected I needed to leave B4.

Recommended by friend and yes I left B4.

My best career coaches have been partners who cared about my career, not only what I could do for them...one of them even helped me to get my current job

like

If you are good and they care about you and your career, they will help you out. I was able to transfer, as a SM, from audit to advisory & other city thanks to those partners...all this with KPMG.

I used an external career coach and it was money well spent to help me think and evaluate where I otherwise wouldn’t have. Found it though LinkedIn Professionals. Didn’t leave the firm but was able to identify the areas I wanted to transfer into. Took awhile but finally made a switch last year. The career coach helped me kick my butt into gear

Post that should I apply internally for tech roles based on my skills and the Google certificate or look out for other companies? And if I apply internally in Amazon, what's the success rate of getting a position as a Data Analyst?

So I gave my counter offer to a potential employer. I expressed my interest in the new position and touched on why I countered their offer. I also explained my family’s interest in the new location and the steps we have already taken to prepare for the move. What is the usual timeline for a response to a counteroffer?

Hi everyone. I’m new here but I think I’ll get a lot of really good feedback. I work in government procurement. I worked remote during the pandemic and now my manager cannot see his way to letting us work from home. Our department is the only one in the organization that is in the office all the time. It is really hurting morale and, personally, making me look for something different. What is everyone’s experience with old school management? Thank you!

How difficult is it to get a job in a language you don't have experience in? I have 7 years of experience in PHP and the job market doesn't seem to have a lot of openings. Lots of Python and Java though. I've applied to a number of these roles and haven't even gotten a phone screen.

Is it me? Or the market?

Fairly new to investing. For folks that have been in the game for quite some time, what sort of information do you look for in determining whether a company is a good investment or not, whether the price point is high or there’s still room to run, etc. If someone said ABC is a good investment, when doing your DD, what do you look for and why? Any links or books/courses you’ve used would also be appreciated.
