Yes. Too easy. Only 1 person in my class failed out academically. Take the pre-Sapper course while you're there if you can. Get ready for a fun introductory ruck-run, we had someone straight pass out in formation. FTXs were a breeze. You'll make friendships that continue long after (even us reservists). You'll also run into people from your class downrange... bring a car.

Did you commission through ROTC or OCS? And how is it, to be an engineer officer?

ROTC. Really glad I picked this branch. Try to find a combat engineer unit if you can. Construction is boring. I'm not even a degreed engineer.

I work at a medical device manufacturing plant as a training coordinator, I have a military background and a degree and am trying to advance but am feeling stuck. I recently commissioned in May and I was supposed to enter AD in Jan but just found out today it’s looking like it is going to be pushed back to next April/May due to issues in training pipeline. I graduated with a finance degree and have been working at a FinTech startup for the past yearish. I am going to be moving home to Chicago and am now looking for any in-person, hybrid, or remote work with a Vet(s) in really any industry and would love to work with someone who started their own company.

So with 60 days Military PTO, a pretty healthy vacation policy, good benefits overall and from what I am perceiving as a pretty damn good career path, almost like an Army officer career path, is this consulting career actually a pretty good gig? I mean, it seems like you can do just about whatever you want in Accenture, even if “consulting,” isn’t the path you want to go down long term. Are these people wining about comp, hours, and projects, just clueless to what the real world is like, and how much Military hours and “projects” can be? I don’t know I just feel like this is like the civilian equivalent to the Military, and not in a bad way, thoughts?

I’ve been doing SAP for a year(needed the job) and I absolutely despise the work and feel like tech support. Every day is like a 12 hour long safety brief. I’m tied to an archaic, obsolete, bureaucratically-designed vendor where my skills are useless for literally anything else.

Does anyone have any SPECIFIC advice for how I can do something else? I would be happy to start over and do an entry level job if anyone would consider me for it.
