I don't have personal experience but I've heard pretty good things about Dell's solid W/L balance.

Culture and WLB are great. Lots of opportunities to learn and grow as well. Overall, I'd highly recommend it.

Great culture and learning/growth opportunities. One of the more diverse teams I've worked on, too, which is valuable to me. Pay isn't always the highest in the market but for the time I was there it was worth it to be on a low-stress team.

Yea, will be my first position at a technology company, and it matches my base I currently have which is nice and then commission potential is there. Thanks for the input everyone

I worked for them for nearly 3 years. I'm a seasoned professional and have seen them all. DFS is a top notch outfit, one of the best out there. Compensation is excellent. At my interviews they were more concerned about how I might fit and contribute than proving every detail of my technical abilities.

Im currently studying Industrial Engineering with a minor in management. I’m interviewing currently for consulting, and theres a VC course at my school that seems really interesting but I can’t fit it into my schedule without removing the last class I need for my minor. Would not getting that minor do any harm to me short or long term? Im thinking that if I end up at consulting especially no one will care about a management minor they’ll just look at the firm I worked for.

I am interviewing for a new IT Manager position. I started putting out soft feelers and then hit the hunt harder. The problem: I have one offer and need to give an answer by next Wednesday. I have two other opportunities that are in final steps but probably won’t have offers by next Wednesday. Both of the other offers will be higher pay but clearly are uncertain for offers. Do I accept the offer I have, which is a good one or wait for the other two to finalize and possibly miss out altogether?

Hello Fishes,
Just need your help
I gave two rounds of interview on 7th and 8th April and there's no update from hiring manager till date.
I asked for an update once, shall I ask again?
What shall I ask?
I'm just so confuse, earlier use to receive update in a day or so but this is the longest wait.

Discovered major pay difference between myself and two new male hires with equal experience. Asked for a raise and was shot down due to Covid and essentially told they make more (were talking a 30k) bc they don’t have my “other responsibilities” aKa my two kids. I know my productivity is effected by parental responsibility but I don’t feel that alone justifies the difference. I know our billable output isn’t drastically different. I recently took up a Customer Success Manger role at a engineering software company. Previously I was a Project Manager at the same company but wanted to move out of my engineering services role. I primarily took this role hoping to get exposure to providing SaaS services as company is transitioning at software cloud. My long term goal is to move into tech as my current customers are mostly in O&G. Is customer success a good entry point go get into one for the big tech companies?

I recently interviewed for a really well known, mature tech company that’s revered for its great culture. I was at the last round, after over a month of communication, interviews and challenges. I couldn’t even count hours I’d already put in. Then they ghosted me. It ruined my interest in the role anyway, but I’m still extremely disappointed with how they treated me. Is there a way to give them that feedback? And is it even worth it anyway?

Is it a good idea to tell your manager intentions of leaving?

Recently had my review and it didn’t go how I expected. No raise, no promotion. I expressed disappointment but took the criticism I was given to reach my goal in 6 months or a year.

However, there are a number of issues that bother me enough where I want to move on.

The team I am on is small and I know that when I leave, they’ll have a lot on their hands. I only have a couple of interviews scheduled and nothing is solid yet.

What are your thoughts about having to take an iq/personality assessment tests? It seems so outdated to me. I don’t think it predicts how you will truly perform at a job. I took a test like this for a startup once and they were concerned about my ability to speak up or behave in social settings. This was completely false. I present, interview clients, demo products, and facilitate meetings for a living. So what if I go home and shut down after work? I’m exhausted from speaking all day!
