I was on a thread where a director at ME asked the difference between a pageview and a visit.
Run.
Consultant 1 seems like they’re on the payroll for ME
I had a meeting with them that was probably the worst meeting of my career. Some of our clients use them and have given mixed reviews but my personal experience with their reps was horrible.
They’re on this platform btw, last time this came up I started getting sales pitches.
Do you mind sharing what vertical your client is in? Thanks for the info, btw.
I’m in restaurant. I also have a pretty specialized role so I needed to know a lot of specific information and they basically came with no way of explaining what it is they even do. It could have been a new employee or whatever though because our CPG clients tend to like it.
If you have good sales data, ME is great. If you don't, it's not. They can fudge it, but you really need good sales data to get the value. The software itself is really slick though, and they have the heratige. Rex has been around the block a few times.
And AD1 - if you're the same person that gave that feedback re your bad meeting with them a few weeks back, I didn't see a sales pitch, I saw you being asked for more info about your poor experience. If you're going to shit talk a product, don't be surprised if you're asked for more information....
The likes of ME and Neustar are going to put some agency analytics teams out of business, or at least dramatically reduce the hours they are needed for, so all opinions on here should be taken with a good deal of salt.
Consultant 1: yeah that was me but not the same thread. I want to be clear I’m not talking shit about the product, I’m saying their sales people literally couldn’t explain what it was, or what value they added to the liveramp-driven ecosystem presented. That’s fine, people have bad days. Other people are going to have different experiences.
However, if they did a good job of explaining their offering people wouldn’t have to take to an anonymous message board on a weekly basis to get input on it. No one is on here asking about Neustar, Data+Math, or other MTA solutions from partners who are generally trusted and have good reputations. It’s always ME, and it’s my personal opinion that it’s because they’re so aggressive in sales vs. product.
