Leave PA.. people that struggle with depression need to do certain things every day to feel normal.. for me this is exercise , eating good foods, predictability. PA is a huge trigger with stress, avoidance and bitch ass people throwing you under the bus.
Hey there! So I actually dealt with my anxiety this past fall and that bled into busy season a bit. Here's the truth-- your mental health is the most important thing-- more important than your current job. Number one I would highly recommend setting an appointment with a therapist ASAP. It conflict with busy season hours? Tell your team you have a health issue and you have a doctors appointment and will make it up later in the day or something. Your team(s) are being difficult? You can find a new job. You probably only need 1.5-2 hours for your appointment. Seeing a therapist and dealing with my anxiety is the best thing I've ever done and cannot stress enough how much I want you to beat it ASAP.

It's up to you, but I didn't want my mental health issues to enter into my work life so I didn't tell any superiors of my issues. I just told them I had a standing Dr appointment every week Friday at 4. It wasn't serious but something that I really couldn't miss.
Im curious about this too. Some days I just want to be at home or out in the sun instead of being in the audit room wanting to harm myself for being there all day 😞
Anyways I think you should do something about your mental health I haven't regretted going at all and it also made me realize how emotionally unstable a lot of other people are and how they self sabatoge
I've self medicated with a lot of marijuana in the evenings and Sundays. This might sound bad but it's actually been extremely helpful, I wake up so more rested and focused since I went down this path. My off the chart anxiety has even somewhat subsided while I do this. I've had colleagues compliment my calm demeanour. And when this shit season subsides I can very easily stop and feel no compulsion to continue using marijuana.
Whoever said to leave public accounting is wrong. I have been seeing a therapist almost weekly not necessarily for depression but a shitty home life and I am high performing. Only a few people on my team know but honestly it hasn't beeen a big deal at all. Granted I am on a large job and I go during lunc
These are all great feed back everyone- thank you. PwC1 I have been trying to see a therapist for over 2 months now. I have emailed aprox. 15-20 and they all are full. I have a friend who is helping now because they know I don't have a ton of time, but do you have any pointers on how to find one that has openings? I have been using my insurance website, psychologytoday.com and psychology.com

OP try calling. Shows you're serious and then you can find out when their next available slot is. Sounds like you're doing everything else right going through those channels
