Maybe I’m off base here but seems like EY kept a bunch of low performers through year end to justify keeping everyone’s pay stagnant for FY21 that will be around after these supposed layoffs, cause now they are canning a bunch of people and it’s not like things are any better now than they were in June...anyone disagree?
I joined industry a few months ago, now that I’ve gotten the hang of things, I was able to compress my workload for the close from 40 hours to 16 with automation. Afraid to get fired.
New & young consultant here. Feeling so inadequate on my project, have received positive feedback so far ... imposter syndrome and fear of being fired. Any advice?
I am so glad that PwC has not fired the accountants for the Oscar fiasco. Good to see firms making an attempt to protect their employees despite so much media scrutiny and witch-hunting
HSA - I have an HSA from former employer, laid off last year. I habitually maxed out my HSA ($3,600 this year) in March and realized I am not eligible (new/current employer doesn't offer HDHP). What do I need to do?
Got let go today. Re-structuring. There less than 3 months. They are offering me 1 week severance. Thoughts?
Deloitte BTS layoffs. Any updates?
When doing background checks before you get an offer do they look at employment history or just criminal background? My friend has been unemployed for over a year but just received a job offer. He was fired from his last job and has been stating he still works there. How likely are employers to find out that he was lying?
Success stories of being unemployed/lost for a year (due to multitude of reasons, not fired) but landing a good job afterwards?
So these being fired for low utilization posts are freaking me out. Any EY 🐠 hear anything like this for this performance year yet? Is that automatically considered if you get below a 3?
So many new hires coming in. I just don't get it, with all the layoffs that happened a few months back and a bench so deep..
If I ever start a company, I am going to have a no acronyms policy. Any one who over complicates things with acronyms will be fired on the spot.
Anyone else who recently started struggling to get hours? Team seems very busy, but no one gives me work even when I reach out. Not worried about being fired (not yet, anyway), but I’d really like to have more than 3-4 billable hours a day…
How long and difficult do you think it will be to find a new job if you are laid off in the next couple of months or so?
Any insights on CP+B Boulder? Are layoffs still rampant/has Bogusky’s return changed anything for the better?
Just got laid-off at Arnold with 30 other people... but then again, what did we really have to work on!?
Total comp for Senior Manager, healthcare consulting (revenue cycle, provider ops) in NYC at big 4?
Can someone provide data points on comp expectation for a BizOps Manager role at LinkedIn? If possible, please break out into base, bonus, RSU, etc. I’m trying to understand what to expect. As reference, I have 5-6 years of experience, no MBA, coming from strategy consulting at Big 4. Thanks!!
Hi, I have a 1st round interview coming up for an associate position at L.E.K. Consulting and was wondering if anyone could give some insight into the interview? I believe it will be 2 cases, 30 min strategy and 30 min quant. Have been doing some case prep over past few months, but nothing too in depth or LEK specific. Kind of nervous - never done a case interview and feel a little underprepared
Had a freak accident in the office and ended up in the ER with stitches. Any experience with workers comp in the big 4???
Looking to get a few certifications, I have worked in both IT and HR consulting and am trying to decide between ITIL, SHRM, and PMP. Any thoughts on which would be best for future, quickest to get, hardest test? I get the cert paid for and a bonus upon completion, so trying to decide which one to pursue or the order if I want multiple.
Curious how many freelancers on here would pay dues to a FL guild that offered cheaper/better healthcare than cobra
What’s the promotion period for McKinsey’s North American offices (period when it’s decided) ?
Hello everyone, I am currently a HR Generalist for a small aerospace company, located in CA. I have been in a generalist role for a little over 4 years now and before that, I did recruiting/safety for about 3 years. I am now looking into getting my HR Certification, but am stuck in between the PHR-CA or the SHRM-CP. Does anyone have any recommendations they can give me?
Anyone else goofing off while WFH? At the office I had to pretend to be busy, but no more pretending for me!
I’d like to get HRCI recertification credits that add the biggest impact to my professional development. I’m currently a SPHR and HR Business Partner. What is the best training provider or certification to go for?
Need career advice: in industry, took a job in the function I want but not the exact team to hopefully internally move later. Just found out that our team is looking to hire someone who would focus on what I actually want to do (however position hasnt been approved yet and no idea if it truly aligns but based on the name it does). I haven’t really been upfront with my interests in doing more work related to the team I want but have dropped subtle hints. Worth being upfront? More in comments
Kpmg 🐠, currently interview for a manager role in their supply chain practice. However, based on my YOE, trying to angle for director (SM) role. Is Kpmg usually open to leveling up based on experience? Thanks!
