if you end up securing an interview for a new job during work hours, do you take a day off to accommodate the interview? how do you block out time for this when you have to be working throughout the day?

Interviewed (via Zoom) with an out of town firm about a possible lateral position in mid-March. They were extremely positive, hinted at an offer, but stated it was a timing issue with COVID (understandable). Checked in a few times, silence for months, wrote it off, but was informed recently go before the Hiring Committee early next week. Assuming it goes well, is it appropriate to ask to fly down to meet others/ learn more given the passage of time?

Sometimes I wonder if men think about things that will affect their interviews like being of childbearing age(employers assuming we will be pregnant soon), wearing makeup, what clothing/jewelry we wear, our voice, etc. Just thinking out loud.

Hey all, I just received a great offer for an AE role at my 2nd choice agency. However, I'm still in the sample assignment phase with my dream agency and will be having a third round conversation on Tuesday (the 2nd choice agency did not have a sample assignment, only 2 interviews). I don't imagine it looks good to ask the dream agency to speed up the process, but what are my options? FWIW, I already asked Agency 2 for the timeline to have my response. Thanks in advance!

Forensics pays well compared to most areas of finance/accounting, but I’m curious why we don’t charge more and pay closer to law/MC/IB?

Our clients depend on us to win or lose sometimes billions of dollars for them on a given project. We work extensively with financial modeling (IB), exec/client-facing work, presentations, visualizations, slides (MC) and logical arguments, investigation, heavy reading, extensive writing (Law) as well as some tech, stats, data science, and standard accounting

How important is it to get your CPA in the long run/ outside of big 4? Would CFE be beneficial? I’m a forensics staff.
