Yep, invested in a multi-unit prop. Live in one unit and rent the others.
Don’t need a primary residence since I don’t have wife / kids. Also doesn’t make much sense to pay rent on an apt or mortgage on personal home if you’re traveling.
Tenants pay for most of mortgage (I pay small fraction since I’m living in one unit, but otherwise would be cash flow positive). By the time you’re ready to buy your primary residence, you can sell and use the built-up equity to purchase.
Bcg1, would you mind sharing some numbers? Specifically: CoC, rent ratio, cap rate, purchase price, built up equity, years owned? Thank you!!!
