I have been in this situation twice recently. Onboarding was pretty easy. 1. People on West Coast, Me on East Coast, and team in India. I was really close with the team in India. We communicated a lot on teams. Wasnt so close with my boss on the west coast 2. On a team of people all remote. People in the US, UK, and India. Didn't have close relationships but we were all on slack and we were extreamly productive.

Been on a fully remote team since February 2021. Some have been on the team together since July 2020. We grew from a team of 4 to now 15, with some ebbs and flows and transitions in between. Onboarding and team culture has been great bc our leadership empowers us to create the culture we want. Our team prioritizes team health, psychological safety, and individual development. Even before I joined that team, I was fully remote on project teams starting March 2020. It truly does depend on the team. The ones that value personal relationships will make it fun. The ones that prioritizes development will enable you to grow. Other teams are very transactional bc the leaders want it that way (they don’t have to say it for us to see their behavior).

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.

Suggestions for a birthday gift for myself? My boyfriend has been asking for weeks & I keep saying nothing but he is not having it. I have a comfortable life & can’t think of anything other than a nice night out, which is already common in our relationship. I suggested a nice set of cookware because I enjoy cooking on our nights in but he jokes it’s a little too domestic. An engagement is already in the works so jewelry seems silly & I WFH so even high end shoes/bags can wait. Thoughts?

I gave notice because I am moving to another state for personal reasons and now my boss wants me to be fully remote. At first he was 100% ok with me being fully remote but now he is discussing dropping my pay 50% to allow me to be remote. Like no... am I right to consider that absolutely wrong given that I would be doing literally the same job I have been doing and putting in the same hours as anyone else? I was remote already throughout Covid so idk what the issue is now

Does anyone have any insight as to when things are going to go “back to normal” in California in terms of needing to appear in person for smaller status conferences, hearings, depositions, etc. instead of doing it via zoom? I am permanently remote but a lot of my cases are in courts that are a good 1.5-2 hour drive from me and I’m starting to feel anxious about when I’ll have to start going in person for these types of things because of the distance.

Hi Fishes, I'm working at an Israel-based publically listed company in insurance software solutions (i.e. a product-oriented company). We have multiple technical and non-technical positions open with us ranging from DevOps Manager to Lead Analyst and product manager, all for Bangalore Location(however, we are on WFH since March 2020). If anyone needs a referral in an innovative, evolving, and dynamic IT company, with a really good work-life balance, then do ping me.
