I ended up not doing it - but I work at a boutique and got offers from KPMG and PwC. Definitely doable if that’s what you want!
Very common. Typical scenario is someone gets hired at a boutique firm, does a year and then laterals over. Typically, they'll make you start as a year 1 role, with opportunity for accelerated promotion

Yea very common
As LEK pointed out. It is among the lateral moves quite common. The most common is moving from a life science firm to BCG. We have a few people doing this each month.
Various firms. I've seen laterals from the larger ones such as LEK, SKP, and Huron to the smaller one that might only have 1-2 offices. Off season recruting depends on firm and city office hiring needs. So technical answer is depends. If you want to chat more send me a DM
