Has anyone left law for a public admin job? I’m wanting to move to public service but not as a litigator and I’ve already tried working in the nonprofit sector. I’m considering getting an MPA. Any insight or considerations from folks who’ve done this have would be helpful. Thanks!

At my current firm, been seeing a lot of people get extended until eternity on the same project / clients. One of the big draws of consulting was the variety, which I am not getting here. Just signed with an MBB. Will I finally get project variety or will I continue to work at one client for up to a year?

Do you disclose when you were promoted on your CV? I’ve been as a assistant manager for over a year but have just been ‘promoted’ to manager. Have been doing the same role for the entire time… only thing that changed was my official role title. Do I need to split this out into two roles on my CV?

Would ideally like to keep as one optically to avoid having to ‘spend more time in the manger role’… as I’ve been doing that role for a year now and keen to move on!

Need some advice if I should invest in pension fund or life insurance if I’m planning to leave the country (Germany) in the next five to seven years and never go back. I’m 30 and I used to live in Singapore. Joined the PR and had to pay pension but then I left Singapore and moved to Germany after 2 years and it costs more to pay for all the admin and notary than what I can actually withdrew from what I paid after tax... so I threw that money away in the end. Any recommendations to make sure I get a good year-end review (and raise)? Im a second year attorney at a good firm doing insurance defense. I have no billing requirement. My firm doesn’t really do bonuses, but they do annual raise. I get along well with the partners. I’m looking for ways to go the extra mile and make sure my review is good.

Anyone leave law out of restlessness? I did law as my second career and have now had four FT law jobs in 12 yrs, each an improvement /better fit than the last.
