GT will have the better brand recognition, WGU is mostly unheard of. if you want to spend the money you might as well choose a program that’s well known for being top in its field
I took several classes out of the GT program and can honestly say it has been a huge help to my career - not because of the paper-based qualifications, but because of all the things I learned that help me daily in my career. I could not recommend it enough!
GT MS Cyber is 10k. Why on earth would you do WGU over that?

Because you come out with 2 certifications and the checkbox for MS completed.

I’ve looked at both programs. From what I remember you can get the WGU degree very quickly and easily so it is commonly recommended if you just need to check a box quickly. Otherwise the Georgia tech program seems to be the best value, it’s just more difficult and going to take 2-3 years.
OP, did you consider UMGC for a cybersecurity masters?
Is wgu legit?
WGU is big in the military realm.

This will be useful

Great school, but I’d you are already in the field then no school is worth an ms in cyber
If you want to do adjunct teaching at a college, the MS would be helpful.

I did my masters at Alabama for Info sec. going back I should’ve did it at WGU because their program makes you get at least 2 certs as part of the curriculum. My friend doing now and it’s well worth it IMO masters branding don’t matter in our field for jobs. Certs do.
WGU if your already experienced you can graduate in one term for about $4k and 6 months and you get a couple crappy certs. Was worth it for me and a few others I know.
Don't compare to GT because it's probably about 5-10x easier.
I did my BS in IT and Network Management at WGU. It's a good option for those who are working full-time. I liked it because alot of it was taking certs and getting college credit at the same time. It's a good value, but doesn't have name recognition.
I'm always weary of for profit colleges. I'm attending Old Dominions program
Understand the concern of for profit colleges; but of the two in the original post, neither are for profit universities.
I'm at NYU but wish I accepted GaTech's offer in retrospect. 🤷
But that said, it is generally understood that a graduate program is more than just for learning. More for networking and driving new ideas and furthering the industry.
NYU does have lots of vendor partnerships among other things that are strengths though.
Op do you have any certs?
What's your overall goal? I'm kind of in the same boat as well.
WGU shows up more often than you'd think. I did my BS and MS there, took less than 2 years as well. If you're going to stick with big 4 or similar then GT may be better, but if you have experience and are looking at industry WGU is the better bet.
Get your CISSP instead
already have it; just wanted to check the box for an advanced degree
It really depends on your end goal.
UMiami has a great certificate program for security.
