Has anyone lost a significant amount of weight? My journey has been tough to stay on track, especially with nutrition. Advice on how to stay motivated/ focus on this esp with a hectic work schedule?

I have struggled with this for the past four years. Finally , I am on the right track and it is hard... but sticking to it is so much easier when I am seeing the number go down. Staying under 1200 cal/day has finally done it for me. Currently doing lunch/breakfast shakes, snack on fruits/veggies, dinner is 1/2 plate salad, 1/4 plates protein and 1/4 good carbs. I have not been exercising b/c of weather but can’t wait to see my progress when the weather is decent. Using LoseIt app for tracking and iFit Nourish for 2 shakes a day :) Good luck

Which type of shakes do you use? Protein- and if so which brand do you prefer?

I tried three different ones and settled on iFit nourish - the company gives you one tailored to your needs and my mix has more protein so I don’t get hungry like I did with the other two.

Hey OP - are you using a tracking app? My favorite is LoseIt .. easy to use.

Yes. It’s hardest when you hit a plateau! Keep going and don’t get lost. When i hit a plateau I work on maintenance for two weeks then go back to hitting it again. I’m 40lbs less than I was 10 years ago though and I look soooo much better. I’m going for 45-50 lbs less now! 😍

I’m 5’7” so my highest was 187 lbs. At 145 now. I fluctuated a little bit since I first lost weight.. like 165 after I had a baby.. 157 after I was in the hospital.. but mostly been in good range. The best thing is that ppl really do treat you differently.. more men want to date me now at 33 as a divorced mom than when I was 23, exclusively due to the weight

Have you tried mixing up your efforts so you don’t get bored? For example, for one month do the same workout schedule (varying by day) and then try something different the next. I also prefer carb cycling as opposed to strictly low carb. This keeps my meals exciting and allows me to eat the foods I want (to an extent) throughout the week, without it hurting my weight objectives

Maybe not significant but I have PCOS (hormone Imbalance) and also meaning that i gain pounds easily and the pounds are impossible to get rid of, and I’m vegetarian so my diet used to be 80% carbs. I was about 142 at my highest in 2016/17 and I just hit 130. It took about a year of working out for me to feel a difference within myself, and 18 months for others to notice. Now, people I haven’t seen in months have commented saying I look like I lost weight. It takes time, but don’t give up. I go through periods where I’m very into working out and then not so much. What’s helped me is using working out as an outlet or stress reliever, whereas before I would turn to food to do that. So if I have a stressful day, instead of getting a cookie - I’ll go on a walk. I’ve also tried to intermittent fast one or two days a week. But I also meal prep and if I feel like indulging, do so once a week. I mix up my workouts: 1 HIIT, yoga, and weight training day each week. It also helps to understand what type of workout keeps you going (kind of like figuring out how you best learn) - I found going to classes encouraged me more bc I need structure.

Anyone else really impressed w/ Cuomo of how he's handling NYC? Love the directness of his approach & how well he articulated his plan of action. No masks-let's sew some! No sanitizer-let's make some!

I hope Congress will put aside their hatred & pride & do what is best for the country now. I'm tired of rich people like Nancy Pelosi playing games with the country & my life. They work for us .......
