Anyone feel like when it comes to your confidence in yourself and your professional growth, that your job title is almost as important as the salary? Salary is of course hugely important. Is ur partner’s sense of cleanliness and tidiness a deal breaker? My partner maintains his hygiene but everything else around him is in a state of messiness - he would finish a beer and leave it on the desk. Our home office is full of cans, food container, random trash that my partner does not put away. It stresses me out because his habits make me feel that I will always have to be the one to clean after him...he’s the one with the busier job (he’s a principal at a big 3 consulting firm).

If we are serious about cutting emissions and fighting climate change, can we hold our office offsites closer to our home offices? We can still go to a luxury resort, eat fancy food, and have a grand time - but there’s no reason for us to be flying hundreds of colleagues a thousand miles away for a weekend of drinking, partying, and professional programming when we can do all that closer to home. I am not suggesting we change anything about client travel - just stop flying for offsites
