Has anyone moved from Big 4 to a boutique firm for IT Advisory? I'd appreciate thoughts and experience.

Not constant, but peaks and valleys were more pronounced and felt more acutely. And the bench did get culled more frequently than I've found at Big 4. There's something to be said for having a diverse-enough market presence that the cessation of two or three projects doesn't represent >10% of the cash flow.

Thanks EY1. How did the projects themselves compare?

I too would like to know

Was it a constant fear of layoffs?

The boutique aimed for strategy but ended up having to take what it could get. I had very cool executive-level work one month and then PMO/staff aug the next. Not to say that's standard, but there was a bit of whiplash. A bigger balance sheet allows the consultancy to say No, but admittedly that doesn't always happen in Big 4 either. Overall, work is more consistently interesting where I am now.

My brother makes an hourly wage as a delivery truck driver. He’s gotten much more efficient at his job, so he finishes his routes early, and he ended up making less this year than he did his previous year. I’m trying to convince him that he needs to ask for a raise. Is it greedy or what he deserves?

I really like my firm and role here but working from home has made it difficult to stay engaged. Also, it doesn’t help that I’m constantly working on reports when I’d rather be doing more client facing projects. I already made some adjustments in order to stay active (upgrade my set up, exercise before I start work, take constructive breaks.) Does anyone have more tips on how to stay motivated while working from home?
Thanks in advance!

Producer in the editorial world. Recently transitioned from post to producing & looking to expand my work. I really enjoy being on set (long term goal is to direct), pitching, crafting ideas, creating shot decks/shot lists, scripting, etc. Not so hot on budgeting & the money aspect.

In the editorial world a lot of roles are mixed. Currently I'm on set, shooting, directing, the whole thing. In the industry, is there a special name for producers that ideate and/or are on set?
