has anyone moved from growth/vc to an ops role at a startup/growth company and then back to growth/vc? currently itching to move to ops for a variety of reasons but largely bc i don’t feel like im learning anything new. every day feels like im doing a lot of doing nothing. my WLB is great but its to the point where aim not stimulated and getting bored. i’d have to take a pay cut to do ops and thats the only thing giving me pause. thoughts?

I have an offer for a PE Ops role and whilst comp is good it seems like they're hiring a pool of internal consultants to leverage for implementation projects within specific PortCos and therefore I won't be driving initiatives centrally - is this standard practice for Ops roles?

At this point I think I'll turn it down given I'm looking for something that operates more centrally (driving not implementing myself)

Role: VP of Operations, joining an Ops team that will be ~10 people total top to bottom

Offer: $200 base, $150 bonus, and ‘carry’ that is actually just a deal performance-based cash payment that is awarded to non-carry individuals (cont)
