I went through a couple of steps: The position I applied for was a “union held position” so I reached out to people I knew who were in the same union, and asked for their wage breakdown. The breakdown gave me the pay rate for each tier.

When negotiating, I asked how they defined the tiers, then mentioned how my relevant work experience was more aligned with the higher tiers.

Most likely a union environment. If you don’t want rigid rules and standard pay increases you might want to look elsewhere.

Only 1 out of 5 places this has happened to me was actually unionized. The rest weren’t, so it doesn’t make sense.

New/pivoting into HR! 👋 Currently working as a TA Coord with a little entry level work in HR Ops prior to this. Is there a SHRM link, reliable test, or method of shadowing the various parts of HR that will provide a sample of the work, thinking, and day to day experience of each group? I didn’t go to school for HR and therefore haven’t had the opportunity to sample HR Ops. vs. TA vs. Comp vs. Benefits vs. Payroll, etc. I know work experience is the best barometer, but what can supplement this?

Okay, it’s time to stop putting on a face about this. I love my boyfriend so much, but covid is ruining us. We are both still WFH and argue every few days about the dumbest stuff. My and his mental health are both diminishing and it feels like an impossible trench to dig out of. My stomach hurts every time we fight and I (independent of him) feel so stuck in this horrible global crisis. I don’t want to lose him, but I need to figure out how to dig us both out of this unsustainable mental state.

I’m worried if I stay in healthcare I’ll do international work - which was a longtime dream of mine

Question for fellow attorneys:

I applied to a credit card with Chase a few months ago and within 7 days I was told it was rejected and they would send a letter explaining why.

Chase has recently calling to say it expired (they said it wasn’t rejected but I was told on the recorded line that it was).

Isn’t this against the law (fair credit reporting act)?. I’m not a lawyer so I’d love to hear your thoughts

I recently got an offer from accenture in which fixed pay is 5 LPA and variable is 21% of fixed(105000). There is an indicative variable pay % range in the compensation chart and in that it is mentioned 6-9% so how much variable pay will I exactly get? If it is actually 6-9% of the fixed income then why accenture has mentioned 21% as variable pay?

Consulting walon poore saal ka daal diya he. Ab mat poochna kab kya hoga kab release hoga 😁

Hello all
I am a biology graduate. I worked in cancer research and development for more than two years. Recently moved to Canada, and now I'm wanting to transition into clinical research.
Most jobs I find online ask for atleast 2 years clinical experience.
Does anyone have any tips on how to procure this experience? Should I invest in a course? Or should I volunteer at a CRO?
I recently got offered a clinical admin position, would this count as clinical exp?
Thanks

So I had been working as medical interpreter up to the early part of this year. Today, during an interview, the Director with whom I was interviewing genuinely urged me to consider pursuing a career as a PA or even attempt to go to medical school. I had considered it in passing before but today was about the third or fourth time that someone had earnestly nudged me in that direction. Has anyone here made such a career pivot before? I love working in healthcare, there’s nothing like it.
