Has anyone on an H1 gone through the Global Entry Interview? Care to share experiences?

Can you clarify that someone on H1B can get global entry? I thought it was only for citizens or perm. I know for India you need to go to home country for background check

Same thoughts with pwc1. Can H1bs really apply for global entry? I was researching about this early this week and couldn't really find programs that fit our visa category. I guess will just stick with the long lines then. Sigh

Unfortunately, not a citizen of those countries..

No different from the regular GE interview. Of course, they do background check in your home country as well, but the interviewer didn’t care about my H1b. Don’t think visa type - providing you’re not unlawful - really matters

I've gone through the background check in my home country already. Have my interview (which I'm assuming is the last step) scheduled for next week. Just bringing my passport along should be good enough?

Went through it too. Took less than 5 minutes. Passport should be fine but can’t hurt to bring the “usual” docs like I797 etc

Yep- H1bs can get GE (and resultant TSA pre-check) providing they’re from the approved list of GE countries. I got mine a couple of years ago. Also check if your firm or credit card reimburses the fee

I am on H1B and have GE, if it helps...

I did look into it and after filling up the GE form they sent verification email but you have to go to your home country and get police verification done. There seems to be a loophole in the system as for folks like me who live in the states going back to home country(India) and getting it done is arduous and impractical.

Only citizens from selected countries https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/global-entry/eligibility

P1 - yes it is..and it's not going to change unfortunately.
