I went into legal recruiting. I don’t regret it bc I hated being attorney but also don’t see myself as an agency recruiter long term but definitely better for now

Ya I saw lexis nexis as well. Part of the problem there is their roles are also sales oriented - different than recruiting because your selling a product obviously and one that’s been around for a while

My friend from law school
became a landscape architect after trying bankruptcy law and hating it. He owns his own business and loves being outside with plants and creating designs for clients.

Finance lawyers, I’m a mid level suffering from imposter syndrome. Any advice for a junior lawyer trying to move from litigation to corporate? My firm is in a unique situation in that the associates working in corporate have largely left (for explainable reasons) or are on leave, the partners know that they need more associates doing this work, and they’re willing to train me, but as a second year lawyer who’s been doing almost exclusively litigation, the learning curve seems SO steep. Trying to avoid the awkward situation of leveraging them w the offer, them matching, and now employer knows I could pull the same stunt again in the future? Thoughts on how to handle this sitch?

Advice to young lawyers. Read a book.

I saw the thread about savings and many young lawyers (20s and 30s) don’t know how to open up a brokerage account or invest in their 401k. I know they don’t teach personal finance in school (though they should!), but my advice is that you should go to your local library and read a book about the subject. You have the skills necessary but you must invest in yourself. No one will look out for you.
