OP, just pay it and get your I140 approval in 15 days. It's peace of mind after that or at least 1 less thing to worry about.
I'm EB2 ROW and it made sense for me. Happy to discuss if you'd like
Not ROW and had to wait to be current, so initially didn’t pay for premium processing on I140. I waited 7 months and no news, so paid out of pocket just for peace of mind. Got approved in 15 days right away. Definitely worth it for me.
I paid for mine. I lock my i140 date earlier so i can quit sooner. PwC made you sign contract to stay 2 years after i140 date or else you pay penalty. I hate this place but needed my greencard. i485 takes about 6-12 months. If you do premium you wait max 6-12 months , if u don’t u wait for another 2-3 years.

Ok thanks pwc1- that’s honestly nothing for freedom

Heard that there is a rumor that they won't adjudicate your I-485 until your I-140 is approved. I decided to pay for premium even though I'm ROW
It’s not a rumor lol. Its factssssss

If you already filed the i140 can you still do premium?
Thanks P1, the wait time for Texas has been consistently increasing for my category and from 4 to 8 months has now gone up to 12 to 45 months. Plus the firm is extremely lax in filing on time so heaven only knows when they will filed i485, which could have been filed concurrently but was missed. So trying to expedite the process.
Just pay it and get it out of the way.
Well is $2,500 so I wanted to make sure it was worth it. And is out of pocket since my H1-b is not expiring soon.
The benefit of a premium is that you accelerate the i140 and lock in your priority date. But in your case, it doesn’t matter since your PD is likely to remain current anyway. I don’t see value in spending 2500 to expedite i140 in your case, but others may give you reasons to do so. You should have ideally filed i140 and i485 concurrently to begin with.
I think the answer may depend on whether you’re ROW or born in a backlogged country.
I am from Bolivia so I don’t think I am part of a backlogged country list.
OP - ROW here, same as you. EY paid PP for mine. How long do you have left on your visa? I think mine was expiring within the next 12 months so EY did PP
My visa expires June 2022, but they can file for and extension until September 2023 so that is why they don’t need to pay.
Do you have your green card yet? How long did it take after EY paid PP?

I’m eb1 row and wish I could do premium processing! But I guess I just have to wait. It’s at nibraska and filed in July, so assuming I’ll have it by Feb/April or somethinng
