Sounds like spouse needs to step up. Sheesh.

I honestly cannot imagine doing this. Babies require constant care. This sounds incredibly stressful. Hopefully you can get a sitter to come help.

I had my daughter during my senior of college. I didn’t take any time off and graduated on time and then did a 1 year master’s of accounting program. I started working full time (on-site not WFH) and studying for the CPA, it was difficult but I did it. This was back when testing was only available May and Nov and it took me 2 times to pass all parts.

Hooray for you! So glad to see such hard work pay off. This can be an amazing career. I’m a partner and had my children after I was promoted so have had opposite issues ( not a strategy just how it worked out). Congrats.

I do have a sitter during work hours. Usually 730-4

When we’ve been in a crunch like this and the other spouse can’t provide sufficient coverage, we’ll book babysitters for four or six additional hours one weekend day. You can get study time and your spouse can get a break to recover from the extra caregiving they’re (presumably) putting in.

I’m in similar boat… let me know if want to connect

I had to take Reg with a 6 month old and working full time. I failed 2x but got there in the end. It’s brutal. Cram in study when you can. Even if you can sneak in an hr during lunch while eating and you have childcare. Then try to get as much help as you can on the weekends. Cancel all unnecessary social events/ plans and get it done. Worth it in long run.

Hi marketing people. So my wife graduated in 2017 with a marketing degree, but we got married and had kids straight away and she never worked in the field other than an internship during college. Now she’s thinking about joining the workforce and not sure where to begin. Any advice now that she’s 5 years out of school and missed the college grad to entry level marketing positions pipeline? Types of roles and companies she should look for/at?

Does anyone do any non-christmas decorating in their classroom? Have you had any complaints about it? I'm thinking about getting a Menorah and some Kwanza items this year, to spice it up and because I think the kids would dig learning about them. Only worry is some overzealous parent will accuse me of trying to make Christmas "woke." I just think it would be fun! Thoughts? I don't teach in a super conservative town but we have more than a few loud mouths who lean that way.

Good evening! I’m currently working for a PI injury in a dept unrelated to what I want to do in my future career. (I’m a legal assistant who plans to go to law school in the next fall year) I have applied for the litigation assistant position twice and have been denied twice. Should I stick it out and keep working in the current department I’m in or leave the firm for a different litigation position else where.

I’m a bariatric coordinator and an RN. I graduate with my MSN in executive leadership in December. I’ve always wanted to go into leadership. My CNO turned my current job into a “leadership” position. I feel like all of this was done in attempts to get me to “be quiet”. I feel so overlooked, and under appreciated. I’ve been a nurse for 8 years, and worked 7.5 years in high risk ICU. Where I was a charge nurse and a nursing house supervisor as well. Does anyone have any advice? I feel so deflated

How do you actually, logistically go from Sr SDR to AE- do you have to start in Growth/Mid Mkt? I've only ever worked Enterprise and would like to keep it that way.

What do I need to do to show my boss I'm ready for an AE role?

Is it a red flag as a candidate to ask if a company offers maternity leave? I was recently laid off, so I wasn't expecting to lose my job. We're planning on trying for a baby in the next year or so, so it's really important to me that my next job offers paid maternity leave.

The issue is that it's so rarely advertised on company web sites, but ultimately better maternity leave would sway my decision for a job. Is there a way to ask this tactfully? Or without raising red flags?

How have you guys celebrated career milestones? I told myself when I made manager, I'd finally treat myself and buy my first "big girl" bag. I feel like a big baby, but when I saw comp numbers this year, I cried. I haven't been in the mood to celebrate, but now trying to think of alternatives that might be easier on the wallet.

Looking to get into a CRE analyst position. I’m in my early 40’s and have been a landlord and doing fox and flips for my own business. I graduated in 2018 and minored in real estate. In striking out in the few interviews I’ve gotten but haven’t had much luck w my resume despite accolades from those that have reviewed it. Wondering if it’s an age thing or maybe being self employed is a turn off. Any suggestions?

I have my Masters in HR and my PHR but I don't think HR is for me, or I may not have the confidence for this role. I want to quit my job and live off my savings which can hold me over about 6 months, but then what??

Management offered me a new role and training for it too, but I’m moving countries very soon like in 4 months so I rejected it and offered to stay in my same role. Though even in my same role they’re giving me an increase in responsibility + pay.
Now 1 - I feel weird accepting this cause I know I’m leaving
2 - I feel bummed to have not accepted the other opportunity because I was excited for it, now I’m wondering if I made the right decision

I am starting to feel like I’ve outgrown where I am at. I have less than a year of experience doing Program Analyst / Team Lead work and about 10 years in USMC logistics / supply chain / maintenance but feel like I’d like to move to management or supervisor roles. I would also like to stay remote (2 years remote). Any advice for the current landscape? Is it time to move out of fed contracts? Where do I start?

I’m currently at a FAANG and I’m kinda bored. I know most of you are going the other way around but I kinda miss being able to work on stuff that has an impact and the rush of consulting. Does anyone else manage a team of people who are much older than you and feel that they do not respect your direction? I’m currently feeling some level of distrust from them when I give them my instructions, and now they are starting to circumventing me out of certain conversations by only speaking to the newer resource at my level. It’s annoying as I’m the one who’s been on this project much longer and has a better understanding of what is going on.

Hi Fishes,

Need sincere advice...
Got Accenture offer letter without any discussion with HR.
Does it normal? Coz, I have so many queries and when I raised those while EAF submission, they told like, HR will call to discuss offer and suggest to raise all my queries at that time. But unfortunately, I didn't get any call and received offer letter in career portal.
Can't understand, what I have to do?
Plz plz plz guide for further process...🙏🙏🙏
