I don't have divorced parents but some weird family drama. For my cousins wedding, she invited everyone in advance (we all live within 30 mins but some people haven't talked in like 5+ years) to an afternoon tea and laid out expectations on behavior. Basically, I love you both but if you can't behave you will not be invited and asked to leave. It worked well for her - basically those family members just avoided each other the entire wedding. There was a lot of anxiety ahead of her afternoon tea - but she said it was good to do it in advance of her big day. And also a test run of their behavior.

Just make sure each parent has at least a close friend with them, so they have someone they are comfortable with throughout the evening. I’ve been to a small wedding of approx 20 people with divorced parents on one side. It was fine and no one felt awkward, the parents mostly interacted with their own friends. The only thing is making sure communicating expected roles in advance, e.g. whether the parents are going to walk the bride down the aisle, whether there will be a mother and son dance.

Hi friends! Has anyone taken a screenwriting class or course they would recommend? Currently taking Second City’s screenwriting course and like it well enough. However week 1’s assignment assumed we came to the class with a well thought out idea. I did not. I had to break the story and very quickly have fallen behind. I’m still able to get feedback and am trying to catch up, but I wish there had been at least a week or two spent on nailing the story, rather than assuming that was solid. (cont)

I have several law school classmates at this new firm so will obv ask them.
