High fever during implantation or early gestation may be problematic, so I'd take into account what side effects you might experience from the vaccine into the timing.
My doctor recommended I get the vaccine even if I get pregnant (I was discussing embryo freezing). I’m high-risk for covid though. I’d ask for more data or a firmer recommendation from your ob/gyn or another one of your doctors. As the vaccine has rolled out, there is more data available publicly on its effect in pregnant women- google and look for the most recent publications. Results have been positive, but I don’t know if timing around FET would raise any additional questions.

Following. I’m newly pregnant (5 weeks) after FET. My doctor recommended that I wait until week 12 to get the vaccine now. But I wasn’t eligible before my FET. If I was, I might have tried to get it then to get it out of the way. However, you’ll also have to think about the second shot (if not a single-shot vaccine) and if the timing of that could be problematic.
Also holding out for 2nd trimester and currently at 10 weeks. OB said it really depended on your day to day risk level
- a short fever is better than full Covid
- a short fever in 2nd or 3rd trimester is better than in 1st trimester
Figured I could quarantine for a couple more months and ensure the best of all options.
Our FET is tentatively scheduled for May, but we are leaning towards delaying until I can get a vaccine. My REI said she would consider getting the vaccine first to avoid side effects like fever during pregnancy. My ObGyn said she would proceed 🤷🏻♀️
Did your REI give an indication of how many days/weeks you should have at a minimum between the (second) shot and FET? Contemplating the same. Else, is it ok to have the first shot before the FET and the second shot in the 2nd/3rd trimester?
