Masters in accounting!

Check which firms recruit on campus at the different programs. Not all firms target non-MBA Masters very actively. At one of schools that we recruit at, non-MBA master students are either brought in at the staff consultant level through on campus recruiting, or they need to build a network and come in as an experienced hire not through on campus recruiting. This is specific to the consulting practice.

You may be better off doing an MBA at a place with strong healthcare connections and coursework.

At ZS you would come in at the same level with a masters as you would with a bachelors degree. We’re hiring right now so you could try just applying directly

I was recruited for healthcare consulting out of my Masters in Public Health. But they don’t do that anymore. If your goal is to get to healthcare consulting, I would look to see where the big firms recruit from and into what practice. E.g. Accenture’s MBA recruiting at Wash U St Louis and MPP at UMich is for the Health practice. No specific reason, that’s just how they divided up the industry groups and target schools.

If you want to recruit for healthcare consulting, you’re better off just trying to get in to consulting first (period) and then align to healthcare consulting once you’re in. Using a health-focused Masters degree is not the way to do it. If you genuinely love the topic area, go for it. But don’t do a health Masters if you think that will help you get into health consulting at a big firm. It may help with smaller health-only-focused consulting firms like Triage

Health question: Does anyone else suffer from nerve pain in their butt/hips from sitting all day? My research tells me it’s piriformis pain. It means my sit bones are irritating my butt muscle, which irritates my sciatic nerve. It can be excruciating and hurt even when I stand. I bought a fancy seat cushion for my office chair, and I have a standing desk. Nothing helps. The pain has been around for about a month. Anyone else?? What did you do?

Hey Mates I'm working in pretty good fintech firm. I'm in my 30s with 2 kids and they are calling everyone to office by January I want remote job and would never want to live in any city again. Wondering which route to opt? 1. Start investing in open source and build a profile, find freelance jobs on upwork/Fiverr Or 2. Start giving interviews in remote jobs. FYI I'm terrible at interviews and spoken communications. Please provide your inputs. I want to work remote with good pay.

Booked a flight in March with chase points that I cancelled bc if covid (~75k pnts). United told me I needed to re book in a year. I called to see if they could extend, they gave me a voucher for ~$1k that lasts for 2 years. Just got a notification from chase that my flight was cancelled and they refunded all the points. I now see the voucher and the redeemed points on the apps. Did I get lucky and get to keep both or is chase/United going to realize when I try to redeem one or the other?
