Has anyone reported another lawyer for misconduct? A friend had a great experience with an attorney who definitely crossed the line

Not great...autocorrect 🤷🏻‍♀️

Just as it is impossible to find a judge that follows/enforces pretrial rules, a sad fact of this career is that no matter what OC has done, you become a pariah in the legal community if you report another attorney. I've seen people report some pretty egregious conduct, but it's never the bad actor that is ostracized.

Yes- I did. However this was an instance where the misconduct came out in court testimony so my judge instructed me to be the one to report it and he would co-report/sign mine. We talked with the other attorneys on the case to determine who was responsible for reporting it.

It was a post conviction matter. I’d had my license for all of 3 days. It was interesting that’s for sure.

Advice for young attorneys dealing with non-billable workload? I’m still my first two months at my firm but a ton of the work I’m being assigned is non-billable. I understand if I’m not still fully on boarded but how are we supposed to keep up billables while being given time consuming non billable work?

Handed in my notice recently and my firm is super annoyed, making my last weeks super uncomfortable and awkward. I’ve also been transitioned off work really quickly. We have the flexibility to WFH and come in as we please but I normally did 3 days in office and 2 days at home. Is it fair to WFH as much as possible until I leave or should I maintain my original schedule?

First year associate here. I feel like imposter syndrome has made me into a perfectionist, which subsequently has caused an oddly high level of anxiety. I am constantly second guessing myself and I feel like other attorneys at my firm look at me like I’m a moron. I.e. I will give analysis and never hear back from that partner until the next assignment. Is silence from a partner’s end normal? And, how do I break out of this cycle of insecurity?

I’m struggling. I was previously working at a regional firm that’s well regarded in my state. I was busy but I liked the people and there was mutual trust. The partner I worked with a lot moved to an AM 100 law firm and asked me to go with her. I said yes, even though I was generally happy where we were working. I’ve been at this new firm 6 months and I’m miserable. We’re all overworked, I think I’m burned out (making silly mistakes), & the pay is not that much higher. Not sure what to do.
