Has anyone seen a fertility specialist early on in the process/prior to TTC for a year? Wife has PCOS and we are planning for a child but are debating the possibility of seeing a fertility specialist sooner rather than later.

There’s a fertility bowl which might have better answers

Thank you! That’s really helpful, I had no idea.

I looked into having my eggs frozen in my early 30’s to give us more time, but the egg retrieval process was nearly impossible with my travel schedule (2-3x /month - nothing crazy) so we ended up just having kids later and thankfully it all worked out. Doesn’t hurt to have a consult earlier rather than later but just be warned that most places are set up to put the fear of god in you and sell you a whole package.

Hello Ladies! I’ve had a strong desire these past few years to switch from the Aerospace and Defense industry over to consulting. I have finally entered the market to search for a new role, and I had a question about benefits. As a newlywed, I would like to start a family soon and wonder which consulting organizations offered great benefits in terms of maternity leave and health coverage?

I am 35 years old, and I threw my desktop keyboard at my monitor and broke both. I did this because I was playing a videogame and I didnt finish the level I needed to in the correct amount of time. I did it because I got mad other people can finish the level so easily but I cant seem to. I never feel good enough, and I think it stems from my father for 18 years telling me I am never good enough. Now I never know if I see myself as unworthy because its true or im conditioned to believe it.

Having my 1st baby and trying to figure out invites for the baby shower and could use input. My SIL /MIL won’t host a family shower for me. My mom thinks it’s tacky for her to host anything. My friend is hosting a shower & told me to invite anyone I want. I’d like to invite family on both sides. I don’t want my friend to be stuck with the bill, so my hubby said he’d pay for it; my mom freaked out and said it’s like I’m hosting one for myself. She wants to not invite any family now. Thoughts?

Trying to buy a house right now is destroying my mental health. We’ve been renting for 4 years trying to get careers established and save up, have been trying to buy for the last year and now we are completely priced out. Kid is starting school soon and we need a yard and proper home zoned for the right school. Feeling like a complete failure for being parents in our mid 30’s and still not having a real home like every other person we know. I see no end in sight to this. Very dejected.

Planning a bridal shower / bachelorette party weekend for my elder sister (she’s 28). She wants to have it in NYC, which is where she and I live. I’m thinking bridal shower at Union Square Cafe or some other fancy restaurant Saturday morning, bachelorette party Saturday night (but no idea where), and then casual goodbye brunch at my parent’s place on Sunday AM. Her friends would fly in Friday or Saturday morning. Have never done this so need all the advice / suggestions! Thank you!

I grew up with strict father who doesn’t like getting happy and showing emotions , there are instances I felt this was specifically for women. When I got out of my home around 17 for college I became a very cheerful and excited person for every single thing. I loved myself , enjoy every sunset etc. met my boyfriend who was an introvert but he used to feel so happy seeing me happy for tiny things in life. FF 7 years - married and all I hear is sarcastic comments for my emotions. Contd..

My son is entering Kindergarten and his (great but hamstrung) public school can only offer 60-85 minutes per day for remote learning, 3 days per MONTH in-school. Just not feasible for a working mom in this industry. So I met some parents, we hired a private teacher, and I’m rolling with a 4-family homeschool pod. I’m keeping my kid in public school, hoping the curriculums can align and not go crazy. Love and strength to all moms and dads and partners out there. It’s tough - but so are we!

Is 210 enough to live an upper middle class life in Dallas? Not trying to come off as shallow just genuinely trying to understand. Have a $300K offer in NJ and $210k offer in Dallas (single income, small family) and want to make sure I’m able to give my family a great life. Dallas seems like amazing place to raise a kid, but it’s also not as cheap as everyone seems to think. The houses we want are $650-$700K range. Insight appreciated

Ladies, How do you feel about dating someone with a child from a previous marriage? It's bothering me for some reason - I feel badly about it, I don't know why I feel this way. It just seems like such a special connection to have with someone and makes my connection with him seem less significant. Please no mean comments, I'm just being honest and wondering what other people's experiences are. TIA

Anyone heard of “honour killing” stories outside of movies from people you know IRL? This concept just seems so unreal to me. How does a parent kill their kid? Or do they not view them as their kid? Is there a history of dehumanisation happening before it gets to this point?
