I’ve been listening to “millionaires unveiled” (highly recommend for FIRE content) and it seems like every other guest ends up doing real estate investing. If you do it, what books or online courses would you recommend to get started? If you have experience in real estate investing, would you ultimately recommend it?

If we did the after tax voluntary contribution (with the intention to roll it over to back door Roth) but don’t get it rolled over before the year ends, what happens? Can we do it after Jan 1? My employer disqualifies high earners and offers them a NQSP instead. Therefore, as a high earner, I don’t qualify to contribute to 401k. Is it advisable to start contributing to NQSP? I am a bit skeptical since funds placed in this bucket is not guaranteed to be disbursed if the firm goes out of business or something happens to a point where it shut down.

What is the average salary for an account manager in employee benefits at brokers firm? And what about a senior account manager salary? I have 7 years of experience in the health insurance industry. I want to see if I’m on track or if it would be out of line to ask for a raise.

In my organization, most with my role are commission based. I make a set salary due to the firm I work for as an account manager/ coordinator for clients… I coordinate their enrollments, working with each groups HR department as to benefits and payroll purposes, and schedule our benefit counselors accordingly. I am finding that in most cases where I compare the voluntary benefits industry, I might be underpaid. What is an appropriate base salary for a position in which commission is replaced?

What’s the consensus on tattoos in the insurance workplace? I’m in leadership and considering exploring my options due to recent personnel changes. I work remote and have arm sleeves, and any time I would be in-person I’d of course wear a long sleeve shirt to be professional, but worry about a cuff rolling up and tattoos being somewhat visible.
