Yes! I do this at least once a month. I don’t tell them it’s a mental health day but I also don’t hide it if someone asks. Normally don’t provide many details about my PTO anyways
I have multiple times without issue! I didn't even lie and said it was a day to catch up on sleep and things I need to do around the house.
I’ve started taking random days off. The nice part about covid is that it’s been normalized to stay home and do nothing/your own thing on your day off. Whereas before I would only take days off if I was going somewhere. No one asks anymore what I do with my day off because frankly there’s not much to do lol.
Unless work is busy I try to take 1 PTO day a month. It helps me decompress. I don’t have to tell them why but I make sure someone can cover for me while I am out.

Many many times this past year. And before that. I’ve told them I’m taking off the day before, told them I’m taking off every Friday for a few weeks, whatever I need. No issues yet. No one is going to ask you if you want time off, you have to make the time for yourself
Thank you for this thread, I think I need to start doing this

Thanks everyone! I need to stop justifying PTO to myself and my team. I will try to schedule something in the coming weeks
