If you can cover your fixed expenses + bar tabs while working at a place that allows you to rapidly grow your skill set and make big moves after a short period of time you’re all good.
I started at 42. It’s all about the future value of the skill set and knowledge you are building. Money comes later.
Almost 4 years. Made a move after 12 months and then another after about 10 months. Been where I am now for two years.
Also started out around 40k 15 years ago but sounds like you'll still have about 500+ in savings per month which is good
Haha great to see this you guys, congrats!! And yeah I guess, I will still have some savings but still feels painfully low…
So $40k base + they’re paying you ~$20k for rent (is this taxed?) + daily expenses? So probably more like $70k - $80k. Which isn’t as terrible as the headline $40k number feels
I wish, its 40k base pre-tax. Tried negotiating, but the guy straight up said ‘someone with more experience out of the bank agreed to 45k, so 40k is what I comfortable with for you out of undergrad’
Started on 40k but with 2-4x bonus expectation
How long ago?
