Unfortunately much of it comes down your own body. I have conditioned myself to sleep 5-6hrs a night and know I can bring it down to 3.5/night for 3 week stretches at a time (but not longer than that). My wife, no matter how much she tried to function with less sleep cannot operate with less than 7 so she does everything to protect her sleep to run 100mph during the day
Idk how but I just feel better with 6 or I’ll wake up sluggish
Also, you should be aware of REM cycles, and timing your wake up to not coincide. If timed properly, sleeping one less hour can actually feel less groggy than sleeping 1 more hour but waking up at the wrong time
If your reason is that they get so much more done, it’s realistically only 2 hours. Getting quality sleep has got to be more beneficial to your longevity than the hypothetical 2 extra hours of productivity. I did the 5-6 hours thing for a couple years and I feel like it took a toll that wasn’t worth it. 7 hours is a happy medium.
Vyvanse or adderall.
But even with those, you’ll eventually get to a point where you need to prioritize your sleep.
