Globant India Pvt. Ltd. Hi Globers ! I have an offer from Globant for the role of a BA. While discussing the role with HR pre and post the interviews & offer, I had specifically ask the HR to tag me to Ahmedabad location as that's my hometown and I do not wish to relocate. But she has rolled out the offer for Pune location ane verbally ( isn't giving me in writing ) assured me that the location will be flexible. May I know from the fellow Globers if we have location flexibility or WFH option available? Globant India Pv

Depends on the country. In Europe you will have a hard time working in a restaurant/bar because they need to hire similarly qualified Europeans first.
That being said the non-English speaking European countries are not terribly hard. There are lots of startups in Berlin for example that you could try. A lot of them don’t require German. If you are a US citizen you can even come on a tourist visa (3 months) and start looking.
In Germany specifically you can also get a language learning visa if you do a language course which will give you up to 1 year in the country.
Another option is to work remotely for a company in your home country.
If the company allows that as it may create a tax presence in the country where you work or makes your own taxes complex.
Also, for a lot of countries you need a work visa which need to be sponsored by a company. If you are in tech a lot of companies would love to get you.
Piggy backing on the above, if you don't travel for work currently, open a PO Box and make that your primary address until you find something that would work for you. Better than a restaurant
I moved to Canada, but I got my PR (permanent residence/equivalent to a green card) before making the move and starting to work here. It was too difficult to find a company to sponsor me. HOWEVER, there is an increase in US based companies (especially consulting and startups) that are eager for people, pay well, and are more progressive than “older” companies who will employ people and let them work from anywhere in North America/anywhere in the world, with few limitations. It may be worth looking into those options!
