I’ve suffered from workaholism for a long time. Thanks to a lot of great self help books and therapy, I’m no longer putting work on a pedestal and I’m spending a lot more time on self care and my marriage. But, unfortunately, I am now getting withdrawals, because my body is used to the daily adrenaline of throwing myself into work. It’s this terrible feeling of like anguish/unease in my gut, but I don’t have anything I’m worried about- it’s like my body wants to find something to worry about.

Any books to recommend on mental strength?

Is it me or you as well postponed the plans for marriage/ proposals if any? I feel Iike this is a good time to bond at least with texts,calls or an outdoor meet and talk anything except covid. Just doesn’t feel like the right mindset to think about marriage with what is going on.

Anyone thinking about leaving toronto to get a cheaper place outside of the GTA while we get back to normal? Don’t want to get stuck in a tiny space during winter/2nd wave.

Im starting a new job but still employed somewhere else. I was trying to be open about staying at BOTH places. My current job won’t let me be part time because they don’t allow “set schedules”. Yet I am one of the only reliable and loyal employees in the department, and currently working a set schedule. So why will they not let me continue a set schedule but with different hours? This place is more focused on strict policies and not actually trying to work their employees and being flexible.

I’m job hunting selectively, biotech industry. Interviews with recruiter, hiring manager, then panel. In the last 10 days I’ve had two recruiters come back to me one week apart with the news that the role was being pulled back (this is after one recruiter told me just 2 days before I was going to get an offer and asked for references).
