I’ve been on the bench with J1 for about 3 months. I was worried that because I couldn’t find another project, I would get laid off so I found J2, which pays more, is very meeting heavy, but I really like. I’ve kept J1 because I’m still on the bench doing absolutely nothing and getting paid. Thinking about looking for a role on a project with J1 that’s not along my career path but will allow for me to do work with no calls so that I can manage both jobs. I’ve dealt with ADHD my entire life, although was just diagnosed last year. Throughout my career (assurance>industry>consulting), I’ve been able to “outwork” everyone else in the office to counter the lack of focus and other associated faux pas associated with the disorder. I currently max out my 401k, is it worth reducing my 401k contributions to save aggressively for a 20% down payment. My lease ends in July so would consider buying around that time frame. Or is it better to keep maxing 401k and just put less down and pay the PMI?

And second is from one small scale US startup company of 22lpa+1l jb for java developer position, the only thing I'm worried is, it's a very small company having almost 53 employees globally. And to avoid double taxation from US and India, they have one Indian entity company to rollout salary of Indian employees.. please help me

Career advice that I give to the people I manage- do one more thing everyday that you weren’t going to do or didn’t feel like doing- for your team or for your client. Could be notes, a follow up, a reminder, raising your hand to tackle and drive something-whatever. That little extra effort against something you didn’t “have” to do, every day, overtime will make you invaluable

Got the following offers on the table:

1. Big 4 - Manager, $180k + $20k sign on, told a good expectation is 12-15% bonus next year. 1.5% 401k match and 3% pension contribution. First year cash would be around $225k
2. New, well funded advisory arm of an established business - Engagement manager, $210k, 20-25% bonus. 2.5% 401k match. First year cash closer to $250k

Big 4 is a defined path with history, reputation, and exits. Other place is largely unknown but a lot of comp.

How long is too long for a case interview? Next round is an M&A take home that they said should take less than 20 hours. I’ll have 3 days to do it, but it sounds excessive upfront
