Has anyone switched from audit to human capital consulting? What was the process like? Would like to get my mba if possible and then look into that service line, would love to stay at the same firm I just can’t do audit anymore. Currently a Senior 3, up for promotion soon.

Big4 company wants me to tell my current employer (big client) that I am intending to join them and sort of get a soft approval. This is before even giving a written offer. I have no interaction with anyone from this Big4 co, nor has anyone associated with both companies has helped. This is all after interview, offer negotiation, offer approval. Does this happen?
