Yes, I took a pay cut to transition from consulting to PM with ~3 YoE. I think it’s worth it if you want to be in tech long term. IMO a PM role sets you up well to do anything you want in tech except engineering of course.
Getting that first PM role on your resume is hard and the stepping stone to getting future calls from recruiters for PM roles. People spend all kinds of money getting certifications to get their foot in the PM door. I personally did not have to take a paycut for my first gig in PM, but knowing what I know now as a PM for 4 years, I would have if needed because I really enjoy being a PM and switching companies will increase my salary again. I would also gladly take a paycut to live a year in Europe for any job, but that's just me. Assuming you can afford it (no massive student loans you are worried about, single income family that needs the money, SO's career not tanking due to the move, etc) it sounds win win to me. PM + Europe life + well known Tech company. Let us know what you decide OP. Where in Europe?

Will they pay for relocation?
Yes relocation will be covered. I do have pre IPO RSU at my current company though so I’d be giving up a bit of that over the next couple years. Basically need to know if taking the one year cut will have greater upside in the long run.
I'm also trying to pivot into a PM role, and I hadn't considered this option. I might have to look into it though. I'm fairly young, and single s no SO or other family concerns to complicate the move. Personally, I'd find the paycut worth it because I've talked to a few people who are PMs and really feel I'm better suited to that role
I think it's worth it because it's hard to get that kind of role and you will do very well for yourself afterwards.
I know quite a few people who have gone that route. Maybe Europe will be a nice change of pace? You'll get to see the world and will come back in a stronger position than you started. I would go for it if I were you.
Fair - the experience sounds great, I just am hesitant about a paycut
