Hi fishes, How many of you have an MBA in HR. And how important an MBA in HR is to excel in the field of HR. Because I'm pretty mba in Marketing isn't that important to get you a Marketing job.
Considering doing a masters. Would my 3 year degree (related field) + MBA (unrelated field) be enough to be equivalent of the 4 year degree in the US?
Anyone here involved with MBA recruiting? My friend is trying to decide if he wants to attend Kellogg this fall (from South Korea) or just continue his job and re apply to business school for next fall or two years from now. He has an undergrad from a top 10 US school and wants to come back to the US and is also worried about the trump administration and whether he’ll even get to stay in the US.

What do MBA grads do at tech firms? The data on any B-School's website says that consulting pays more than tech to MBA grads, however, going by the threads on this app, it seems as if tech pays more. Does the website data not include RSUs? Or does consulting actually pay more? Thanks a lot for your time and effort!
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
1yr of work experience at MBB -- prior experience was in non-profit / community development. What exits could allow me to stay in the private sector that aren't consulting? I think exiting to Tech or a bank is unlikely with no prior experience; I want to eventually return to non profit work, but still want to spend the next few years in the private sector (tbh, just for the experience and so my MBA didn't go to waste). Any ideas?
I'm getting my MBA from the University of Arizona, how prestigious is the AACSB accreditation? And do MBB or Big 4 Consultant firms care about it?

From one Desi to fellow Desi reaching out for help ! I have had some luck with MBB firms but failed to convert. I am currently Senior Manager at big 4 with end to end SC experience. I will highly appreciate if folks from MBB/exMBB could spare time to provide me some guidance.
Transitioned from my first job (in-house at large tech company) to a boutique firm where "quality" is king. Problem is, every partner/client has their own idea of what "quality" is. Feeling like I'm starting over brand new, and the stress is really getting to me. Everyone at my old job told me I was at the top quality-wise, but the partners at the firm all tell me it's going to be 2 years before I'm really confident/comfortable. I'm a 6th year. Is this normal? Having bad imposter syndrome.
Just looking for opinions, trying to be more mindful of my finances. How much or what percentage of your salary do you guys reserve for yourself, if any? And this might include money for (not essentials ) but nice to haves.. like probably a new bag, makeup, clothes etc. I intend to put in 50% into the family expenditure pool as my contribution (my partner takes care of the rest) . I also intend to save the remaining 50% for unexpected expenses/college funds/misc, but what do I keep for me?
Does industry usually drug test for marijuana? In a medical state w/ a script from a doc. If so, do I just bring my prescription with me as if it were Xanax/adderal/ etc?

I was due for a promotion but then covid hit, and during the peak of layoffs/furloughs, I was given the run-around that we have agency wide promotion freezes, etc. Over the past month, a handful of people have been promoted. I know everyone's situation is different but I can't help feeling snubbed. How do I know whether they are genuinely trying to promote me and can't, versus them stringing me along for as long as possible? I dont want it to come to having to bring another offer to the table..
Does anyone know if India has visa on arrival for American passport holders? Friend’s father passed away and he does not have a visa currently. Wondering if he has no options till the consulate opens. Thanks in advance!
Question for the group. I am an experienced individual currently searching to get out of private and into public. I am a CFE and Certified Technology Business Management Executive (CTBME) with an MBA and am scheduled to take AUD of CPA on May 13th. Am I barking up the wrong career tree to try to exchange an extensive and diverse career into what appears to be specialization within public? I really enjoy project work as the monthly grind has worn very, very thin. Opinions?
