Has anyone taken REG in Q3 and want to share their thoughts on heavier areas that they saw were tested?

Thanks

Had a friend take it two weeks ago and he said property distributions, like kind exchanges, contract law. I have mine scheduled in two weeks...

Mine was heavy on pension plans, rental deductions, business expenses. It’s really a random pick of what questions you get. I know it’s hard, but know some of everything.

like

What pension plans? Keogh?

simulations were heavy on partnership and corporate basis + gifts and estates

Mine tested heavy on partnership basis and also K1s. Not much on individual taxes or contracts. I was kind of shocked about it!

Partner sends me fairly complex “quick research” assignment at 5:30, to come up with creative transactional solutions to a particular issue. You drop other things send them some solid ideas and they say oh i meant to ask you this. And the real question was something everyone in the office could have just said “no that’s impossible” without having to check.

Having a really rough day.

How argumentative are you with your partners? I was assigned to draft a motion. I studied the issue for hours. Felt sure about my findings. I drafted it and sent it for review. Partner came back with a different argument, which I know to be wrong based on the case law. Ultimately, we went back on forth on drafts over this issue but I couldn’t give her what she wanted because I can’t physically argue something I think is flat out wrong. She ended up doing it herself.

What's the salary range for a director at the Gilead Sciences foundation? There is a position perfect for me, but I don't want to throw my hat in the ring if starting salary isn't $180-190k. Also, any thoughts on the stability of their philanthropic commitment? There's talk of a recession; I don't want to go private to be cute a few months later.

I’ve been working for the same company for over 7 years— I believe they have improperly categorized my coworkers and me as contractors. We are supervised, have regular hours, daily meetings, we’re expects to be working Monday through Friday, our work (editing and writing) is essential to the operation’s purpose. They don’t pay any social security or unemployment. After complaining they have said they’d agree to make us employees, but with a pay cut. What should I do?
