Has anyone taken the L to midway airport recently? Would be traveling alone and trying to gauge safety (as in crime) since the L seems less crowded with covid

Yes I have and I felt quite unsafe honestly. Sitting in the front car helps alleviate but waiting at the platform is scary and I had to wait 18 minutes for a car. I made it there safely and it beat paying $80

Best way to deal with family members who treat you like the family therapist? Over thanksgiving my aunt disclosed some intense stuff to me and asked me for my help/opinion, and it was uncomfortable. Hi Guys, What’s your take on salary negotiation during this environment? I was laid off due to COVID in April. I just received a job offer with a much lower salary than I expected and my research indicates am being lowballed to the tune of at least $30k! I think the firm can do better because the practice area is thriving despite COVID! They’re in fact looking to hire more associates! Should I negotiate? I have been offered $115K in NYC\NJ! Am going into my third year of practice!

Hello,

I am a 2nd year attorney in a small town location applying for jobs at small firms only (5 attys or less). Therefore recruiters and HR contacts and advice do not apply.

Can anyone share their best experiences as a similar job applicant, or as a partner who as managed the hiring process?

So far I have sent one "cold call" application via email, directly to the managing partner with a cover letter and resume attached. No response.

Should I follow up? Is there a better procedure? TY
